Pros

I love working at Commvault. The culture is unlike any other company I have ever experienced and I really feel that the company values me as an employee. The work I do is meaningful, and contributes to the organization as a whole, which is a huge motivator. There are quarterly calls for my department, marketing, as well as for the organization as a whole. These calls are great, as they keep the company, which spans across the world, on the same page and keep employees informed. The headquarters in Tinton Falls is an incredible building. Each floor has game rooms that employees are encouraged to use, there is an on-site gym, and of course, there is the slide open for employee use at any hour. The cafeteria is also great, with good food and reasonable prices.

Cons

The company is growing, which is great, but means that often there are re-orgs and changes in management.

Thank you for sharing your experience here at Commvault! The culture at Commvault is such an important factor for employee success and satisfaction and something that we take great pride in. I love that you are taking advantage of the game rooms, gym, and cafeteria offered at headquarters. We are a growing company which means that change is inevitable, however, this provides many career advancement opportunities for our employees. - Jesper Helt – CHRO

Pros

Lot of work to keep busy. Cool office space and facilities. Overall benefits are OK. Not a huge engineering department, so you end up knowing almost everyone.

Cons

Top engineering management sucks. The priority is to just release product with checkbox features to list. Good part is you treat customer as the king but you eat up engineering 60% in solving customer issues and less innovation Lot of bias based how well known you are your leader and how well you are connected with higher ups. Awards and reviews are based on these biases. Very stressful work environment with lot of back door hush hush back biting

Pros

Good vendor relationships. Good network of partners and resellers. The products are average, so don't aspect anything bleeding edge. The company spends a lot of time catching up with other software companies in the same market.

Cons

Senior leadership spent a lot time over the last few years building a new building and lawsuits, and not focused on the business. Because of a lot of turnover in the past two years not a lot of senior technical people are left to mentor new employees. Do have an nepotism issues that needs to be addressed by a "new" management teams. The senior leadership needs to replaced. They have had too many years in their jobs doing the same old thing. They need new leadership to create new ideas and direction. The services teams have little to no leadership which causes a lot of pain for customer. Cost of Professional and Support Services are very high and quality is low. The Engineers have very little training. Average products. Requires a lot of ongoing patching to fix problems. Customers spend a lot time on support calls and applying updates.
