Pros

- One of the only tech jobs in NJ. - You can learn a lot about the Storage industry which is valuable. - Despite working there being abysmal at best, the company is still doing well, no idea how.

Cons

- Horrible management, or lack there of. There used to be good management, but they all left because they no longer wanted to work there. - Arbitrary procedures and practices. - Arbitrary hiring practices. - If you are good at your job, they will do everything they can NOT to promote you so that you stay in the role they want you in. - On the other hand, if you are bad , they will promote you into a supervisory role just to get you out of there. - They bonus supervisors on their team's performance. No bonus' to individual contributors. - Compensation is all over the place. Some people make 100K + Some make 30K, doing the same job! - Higher ups like the CEO and others have no visibility into the inner workings of the company. They do not visit engineering or support. - Engineering is very segmented from support. Engineers are trained to be annoyed with escalations and not share their knowledge. - In order to address the growing need for 24x7 coverage they paid one employee 15K a year to just be on-call always. This, of course, is much cheaper than actually hiring 24x7 coverage. - Nepotism runs rampant. People are promoted and hired based on nothing other than whom they know.

Pros

-Fully remote available now -Most coworkers are friendly and personable, even most management -Fairly competitive base wages, depending on your location (definitely not California)

Cons

-The cost cutting measures over the last 2 years just get harder and harder by the quarter. Constantly expected to do more with less -Most \ All overtime opportunities have dried up, taking a potential 10-30k annually in income off the top, and we know its never coming back as its all shipped overseas. -Every US dollar saved via cuts or layoffs via attrition is spent on expanding centers in "other" countries (we all know which one). Everyone knows that its only a matter of time before the US Support staff is reduced to just a dozen or so engineers. (when it used to be ~200 with targets to grow) and we're expected to keep a smile on our faces while training our replacements. -Haven't had a decent raise in years -Constantly moving the goal post for KPI's, you are never told what you are doing is good, just that it could be better.

Pros

Some pockets of good people. Pay is good, especially if you have been there for some time…but they are trying to get rid of those people. Diverse products with good technology.

Cons

Morale is terrible. I get 2 calls a week for people wanting to get out. All EMC old management style. Aggressive and don’t care about human emotions SaaS strategy is weak and keep counting old customers using Metallic as “new” (and analysts found out)
