Pros

Free beverages. A great group of people (here, in CA)

Cons

The product and team has been gutted by shortsighted, inequitable practices. Benefits have been lost while record profits are touted, salaries remain well below market value or cost of living. Ctuit was a great place to work with respect for employees and clients alike. This has given way to a culture of shiny platitudes, inane metrics, and increasingly little concern or emphasis for the team or product in California.

Would be great to get some one on one time personally to address your concerns directly. This review came in just a week before the new 2019 employee benefits presentations where we reduced premiums and will begin contributing to employee HSA accounts; salaries and job levels are being reviewed and market adjustments made with more to come as we continue to review. My personal hope is to have any employee who feels like this take the time to come see me, as your Head of HR, personally. The entire team, combined Compeat and CTuit, is filled with great people and there are a lot of good things ahead.

Poor Leadership & Lack of Communication

Pros

I enjoyed the people I worked with. Casual office setting.

Cons

Much lower salary than market value. Benefits were not competitive for a 'tech' job. No transparency from leadership. If you were anything other than a director or above, you were not treated equally.

Wishing you well in your next venture....the team here at Compeat will continue to benefit from us assessing our market competitiveness in all areas, including salaries, benefits, etc. Much of that assessment is coming to fruition as we begin 2019 with a great set of new employee benefits with reduced premiums and contributions by Compeat to our HSA. Stay in touch...we are confident you'll see us improving time and again.

Inconsistent Communication

Pros

Some nice people, competitive salaries, most employees have standup desks, ability to occasionally work from home, office is located in low-traffic area.

Cons

This place is more focused on flashy new products and working on the latest technologies rather than on making sure the business is running smoothly and that the customers are happy. While you might initially be lured into this company because of it's impressive technology stack, just know that - for any company to be successful and to be able to keep talented employees - communication needs to consistently occur within and between departments. Otherwise, it becomes an issue of the blind leading the blind with the customers dealing with the consequences.
