Pros

Some of the techs are great to work with and very helpful. Get your certifications (they pay for those) and get out. No other pros, this company sucks!!

Cons

They overwork their techs, a very thankless job. They are not family friendly and there's no such thing as having a personal life. No raise for over 7 years, not even a cost of living increase. They get their bonuses every quarter but nothing to the people doing the actual work. Management is secretive and disorganized, a definite "boys club" environment. They keep talking about getting "back to basics", but nothings materialized except for getting worse every month. This company is going downhill and will drag everyone with it. Any job opening that you see on any job board is completely false... they do not offer good medical (very bare bones and expensive), competitive salary (compared to whom?, their starting pay is the lowest out there and just as bad if you have experience and certifications), great working hours (only if you like working from sun up to sun down, working weekends and being on call every other week), there's no such thing as formal training - it's all learned everyday that you work ( no classroom training or computer based, it's all done by certifying on the manufacturers equipment and that's it) and you have a job as long as you do as you're told like sheep or you're out of a job. They rule over their employees with fear and intimidation. There's no bonus, performance or otherwise, unless you're a manager. They never hire from within, lots of talented techs in the field to choose from. No advancement opportunities whatsoever, you'll be at your job for as long as you stay with them. The best advice I can give anyone... run from this company as fast as you can... not worth the stress and headache. You won't have to give them unpaid time just to get some work done and there's lots of it once you're home. I would rather work at a fast food restaurant than here, at least there they give you a raise yearly, even if it's a small one. They hire more and more VP's and senior management every month which means more money to the top and more taken from the bottom.

Pros

a paycheck....meager at best...below 30% of market value

Cons

ZERO merit increases in 5 years - Jim Dixon even sends an email to the company telling you to be happy having a job. Required biometric health screening so the insurance company and employer can know your weight, BMI, blood results, urine results pre-existing medical history. Don't want to give it up? pay a $30/per paycheck surcharge in addition to your steep healthcare costs. You smoke? add $30 more in surcharges. Zero advancement - They lose the contract, you lose a job. Promotion? dream on. Highest turnover rate I've ever seen. As soon as a good tech gets a better understanding of who CompuCom is, they quit in droves. Minimal retention rate, and those left should have never been there in the first place. You are a drone, worker bee, trench digger, and will not aspire to become anything else. You want a raise? Find another employer.

Pros

I can't speak for the rest of them but I have a great team in my area. We all help one another if we are able. There is a certain sense of freedom in not having someone looking over your shoulder constantly.

Cons

Where do I start? Upper management is a joke, this company has been bought and sold about ten times in the past three years by different investment firms looking to turn a quick buck. From my understanding this used to be a legitimate IT company, not anymore. No such thing as actual training, they teach you to manage cases, to log your time and mileage, then throw you to the wolves. If you have questions call the help desk. Pay is bottom of the barrel for this type of work, no bonuses and no real incentives. It seems like no matter how good of a job you do or how far above and beyond you go there will be something somewhere that you probably weren't even told about that you will catch flak for.
