Pros

Coworkers. You will have the opportunity to have good partners & friends here They will understand your pain and frustration. Free 15 min massage once or twice a month. After work activities like happy hour, bowling and game events (Not a company event, this is organized by employees for employees). Health benefits are VERY expensive but you get good coverage (dental plan is a joke) 401k

Cons

Poor training (if any) "land of the lost" I totally agree. Tons and tons of work and updates and no time to please everybody help others and meet tight deadlines at the same time. Always on the call (if you are a programmer, analyst, IT, or ESM) Long work hours (8:30am - 5:00pm plus another three or four at home plus weekend hours, you do the count). Salary not competitive, pay is low compared to the amount of hours you have to put in. This is why they are always hiring the "desperate" the unemployed and the recent college graduates to hire them for cheap. They use the excuse of the bad economy to freeze salary raises or to give you pennies in your salary increase. Like another reviewer before me stated, Technology and Infrastructure is outdated. Database and servers are dinosaurs waiting to die. No support from management, when something goes wrong everybody points the finger at each other. If you are in technology, you can't learn anything new here, everything is custom made for in-house use; you can't take this old technology with you anywhere else.

Dear Former Database Programmer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and thank you for your hard work while employed at CSI. I appreciate it. A the beginning of 2014 we began a project to develop a completely new technology platform. The project is on schedule and the technology is fantastic. Our staff is very excited about it. The technology is modern and leading edge. We are building user tools that will be industry leading. One of the parts we're most excited about is how the platform is going to allow our staff to be extremely efficient in their jobs. It's particularly pertinent to your feedback because the database programmers will probably benefit the most from the new technology stack. We believe our compensation and benefits are competitive in the marketplace but of course we're always trying to improve them. Employee satisfaction is our number one priority and we've recently improved our training programs as well as added staff to reduce workloads. And, it's important to point out, we always treat our employees with respect and we always appreciate their hard work. If you find yourself between jobs please give us another look. needs to get it together

Pros

some of the folks I worked with were fun, HR tried to increase moral by having little gatherings through the year but that didn't do much for the people. A lot had a little to eat and left - a few stayed and drank and socialized.

Cons

Negative environment through out the company, it is like a rat race - always running and not getting time for much of anything but the same old thing. There is a revolving door of employees with 3-4 long term employees in the department and the rest under a year. One person was there 3 years and considered a senior programmer, that is not reality. All employees in department were on call 24/7. Depending on your supervisor depended on how you were treated - didn't see a lot of unity amongst teams.

We want all employees to have a great work/life balance. Happy, balanced employees do the best work and stay the longest so we do everything in our power to treat people as well as we possibly can. We have steadily increased our staff and we're increasing our training. Like any company, we do have new employees. As we expand we hire. However, contrary to your comment, we are very fortunate in that we have many long-term employees. Some have been with us for over 20 years. That said, we are committed to creating a team atmosphere where all employees and departments work closely together. Going to miss Compusystems

Pros

Never bored. I think some people might think having a lot of work is a bad job to have, but I can't stand being bored. So, yes, a busy place to work. Good location (for those of us out in the burbs). The people working for Compusystems are great. I made some true friendships and hope those don't go away as I start my next challenge. Management threw parties for the staff as appreciation (appreciation week...they brought in a hot dog cart last year, bar-b-que on afternoon on the front lawn, holiday party, etc).

Cons

I was stressed on occasion (5 things to do with time to get 4 of them done). Had to put in some OT to get all my work done on occasion.

Our team is our number one asset and our main priority. We do everything we can to make sure this is the best place for them to work. I know our programming staff has a lot to do so we're in the middle of developing an entirely new platform. The platform will have many, many benefits to both our team members and our clients but one of the key features of the new platform is the speed at which we'll be able to set up and maintain shows. It will also be extremely efficient when it comes to developing new features and functionality. Thanks for the advice on listening to team members.
