Pros

I've been with CTG as a software developer for 10 years. The company is reliable on paychecks and will do their best to place you. I rarely interact with CTG, which isn't a bad thing. I work at IBM and my paycheck comes in seamlessly. CTG sends out monthly newsletters and quarterly letters. Overall, you feel like you work at your client site, but you know CTG is always there for you.

Cons

CTG doesn't match 401K, they offer bad health care, and they will not cover your spouse for health care. They'll cover you and your kids, but not a spouse. They also don't have a large client base. It's really just IBM, which is fine if you want to work at IBM. Once you agree to your hourly rate, that's your rate for years. There is no pay raise and you can't negotiate for one.

Pros

They haven't gone bankrupt yet?

Cons

Management - There is no competent person in management at local sites. Don't try to contact Payroll there isn't a way to do so. There appear to be skilled managers at the headquarters in Buffalo, but they employ poorly trained and impersonal people to herd the employees and crack the whip. The company is inflexible and "charges" employees for "training costs" upon separation by reducing their pay for their last paycheck to minimum wage or otherwise charge the employee for earned vacation time. Extreme attrition due to inattentive "managers"

Pros

There are NO pros for CTG.

Cons

They underbid on contracts and hire a small team with a shoestring budget and then try to work you like a slave. The clients have no clue how bad CTG is and on top of the deliverables for the client CTG tries to occupy 175% of your time with CTG administrative tasks and supervisory responsibilities of your other team members without your consent or paying you for all the additional ours. Don't be fooled.

While we appreciate your feedback and regret that you had a negative experience here at CTG, we respectfully disagree; our employees find many benefits in working for CTG and client deliverables are always a top priority. Our employees communicate that they find fulfillment in their assignments by drawing upon and developing their skills and experiences in order to meet our clients’ needs. We recognize that CTG is not immune to employees concerns from time to time, however, our managers work diligently to ensure all employees are not only happy in their assignments, but also reliably meeting our obligations to the client. When necessary, we encourage all employees to speak with their manager if they are unhappy or having difficulty meeting the expectations within the designated deadline. We wish you well in your future endeavors.

Pros

Not much to do with the actual team, but they found the perfect fit for me as far the customer assignment goes.

Cons

Pay could be better, and over time one forgets from time to time than one is working for them and not the clients exclusively.

Thank you for taking the time to submit feedback about CTG. We’re happy to hear your assignment is a perfect fit! Our recruiting team takes pride in aligning candidate skillsets with client needs. Since our employees spend a substantial amount of time at the client site, it’s understandable when a close connection is established with the client. Our managers encourage strong relationships with the client so we can provide superior service. If you’re feeling a little detached from CTG, we have several recommendations as to how you can reconnect: • Follow us on social media. We regularly post employee centric information about the latest happenings at CTG on Facebook and Twitter, @CTGinc. • Read the latest edition of Telebit, CTG’s internal employee newsletter. Telebit is published at least twice a year and provides information about the company's business activity, important employee news, tradeshows and conferences, successful teams and projects, individual professional achievements, and notable personal accomplishments and activities. Both activities are great ways to reconnect with the whole company!

Pros

The view outside? The wildlife around the ibm boulder location is cool too. There are some cool coworkers you’ll meet and make friends with. The ibm directs on the account I was on were awesome, except one. Looks good on a resume saying “ibm agent”. Most places don’t know how disgusting, greedy or poorly staffed ibm is.

Cons

Broken equipment, ibm boulder building is falling apart. It’s disgusting, they never clean the bathrooms, multiple leaks in the ceiling tiles that are never repaired and forever drop into buckets. Stained desk that are falling apart and half the desk electrical sockets don’t work, painful chairs that hurt your back. The “HR” or CTG doesn’t care about those their staff. Active pay caps based on what account you’re on (everyone I talked to only hit about 15.50 or so). Ibm has no pride the way their boulder location looks. Some accounts have 40 agents (when they got staff who stay for a minute) and 20 computers due to “contractual obligations”. Ibm over all does the minimum necessary to hold accounts- reap the profit- and screw over the contract labor. Oh and if you have to goto the bathroom between breaks ctg deducts that from pay. Also, they slowly drown you with more and more work, without any pay increases. Churn and burn, then bring in a new batch.

Pros

There are few positives to working for CTG.

Cons

This is a churn and burn staffing agency. They’ve lost most reputable clients. They focus on low paying and high stress temporary positions. Management overbearing. Minimum holidays, expensive benefits plan.

While we appreciate all feedback we receive through this forum, we disagree that there are few positives in working for CTG. We believe there are many “pros”, including our nationwide team of experienced recruiters who diligently align a candidate’s skill set to current openings. Recruiters seek to understand a candidate’s qualifications in order to place him/her a position that not only meets our clients’ needs, but also enriches and advances the individual’s career. Another “pro” is the loyal client base CTG has established over the past 50+ years we’ve been in business. Utilizing an external surveying company, we receive direct feedback from our clients that allows us to ensure we are always living up to our guiding principle of, “Reliability Matters”. Our clients trust in CTG’s dedication to being the most reliable IT services provider, and it’s that client trust which has shaped our company and how we operate. A final “pro” includes CTG’s commitment to driving employee satisfaction. This commitment has recently landed CTG on the Best Places to Work in healthcare list by Modern Healthcare for the fifth time. In this survey, our employees expressed their appreciation for CTG’s professional development opportunities, comprehensive benefits packages, and positive work environment. We were also commended for our lower-than-average voluntary employee turnover rate. We recognize that it’s difficult to deliver complete satisfaction to each CTG employee, but we sure try our hardest to do so and have processes in place for when an employee is not satisfied. We encourage any employee with concerns to discuss them with a CTG manager in a timely manner so we can work towards a suitable resolution.
