Poor Workload Management

Business Outlook

Pros

Great coworkers, easy to get along with.

Cons

Poor workload management (this is becoming a trend) causing lots of long hours and tired employees. We will get mass orders dropped on us at the last minute with ETC's that give us little room to complete in a timely manner so upper management puts everyone on mandatory overtime that has added up over a month and counting and now you have tired employees making more mistakes that may get passed on to our customers. This could be a recipe for failure in the future unless the workload is balanced so the employees don't get burned out scratching their heads trying to push forward with heavy eyes looking at screens during extra long shifts...

Thank you for your feedback and your years of service to Connection. Experiencing comradery in the workplace is conducive to building team harmony so we are pleased to hear you are surrounded by great coworkers. Connection was pleased to report record growth in Q2 2018. In part, that growth is a result of the efforts of our valued employees in the Distribution Center (DC). Based on your feedback, it would appear there are negative consequences that our DC employees experienced in the short term as a result of this boom in business. Please know that we take this feedback seriously and will review the business and staffing operations in the DC. If you have additional feedback, you are encouraged to engage the VP of Distribution and/ or your Senior Human Resources Manager.

Inexperienced Management

Pros

Great Co-workers and Shift Leads.

Cons

Management plays favorites, nepotism everywhere (Our Supervisor supervises his brother, Mother works with Daughter, etc.), our Configuration Lab Manager has no experience and looks bewildered and confused at all times. I have no faith in our HR to protect employees and even less in our Director.

We are fortunate to have many talented and skilled employees in our Distribution Center. The nature of our business involves constant change. In the configuration lab, our lab techs and managers stand ready to install and deliver our technology solutions. When onboarding a new associate, whether a colleague or manager, it is realistic to rely on the knowledge and strength of the team to acquaint the individuals with processes and procedures of the department. Investing in one another will strengthen the team to operate cohesively while enhancing respective skillsets. We do feel we have a good management team in place in Wilmington. In light of some key changes that have been recently implemented, as well as our focus on Lean Management techniques, we are seeing vast improvements in key indicators including throughput and quality. Connection is committed to a policy of employment that is based on qualifications and merit. We maintain standards of equity and inclusiveness for all in the workplace. Connection does not discriminate in favor or in opposition to the employment of relatives. We recognize employment of relatives can cause issues that may create a conflict of interest and we seek to minimize that possibility. As a result, relationships of mutual dependence and actual or perceived conflict of interests should be brought to the attention of Human Resources. Human Resources will review the nature of the reporting relationship and evaluate the associated risk as well as the business needs of Connection. If you feel you cannot discuss issues locally with Human Resources, please direct your concerns to the Director of Human Resources or Senior Vice President of Human Resources in our corporate office in Merrimack, NH. You are also welcome to engage the Vice President of Distribution in Wilmington, OH.
