Pros

The people you work with

Cons

This place don’t care about anyone. Management wise. People work hard and long hours for not enough pay. You can’t survive on the pay you get if you have a house car excedra on your own. The preach bout giving your input an having a voice with the company or how to make things easier on workers but in reality they don’t care what you have to say or if you have a family. You work like a dog over time all the time working 6 days a week if you have a family or plan to have one don’t plan on seeing them. Because you will be tired all the time all you’ll have time to do is sleep since you will be so exhausted. Some employees you get stuck with sit on there butt the whole time and make you do all the work or find yourself working by your self because they’ll be to busy walking around. Favoritisms a great issue there all the good workers that actually work get treated like there always in the wrong while others are doing nothing get treated like there such great workers. People work hard for money these days to survive but here you can work you butt off an not get what’s needed to survive. Also the higher management love to brag bout all the new things they got because they make the money to survive. All I have to say is you’ve been warned bout working here. And I hope everyone that works there find better opportunities to have a better happier life by leaving there! They deserve it. All the people I worked with were amazing people and deserve the best!

Not so Great

Pros

Pays well at first, but you GET PAID LESS EVERY YEAR AFTER YOU START. All the positive reviews is because they try ti twist arms of new hires to write positive reviews as part of their work day. Luckily, I did not until now.

Cons

Basically telemarkting, false "positive" atmosphere, lame management, too many rules even though they try to act lax

Pros

bonuses, work schedules, benefits, company product discounts

Cons

trip-wire policies that do not server/protect the employee. Way too easy to get reprimanded with no way to appeal. Quick termination and/or loss of bonuses. "Scape-coating" seems to be the preferred way to deal with management "errors". Too many "trip-wires" to get into a "PIP" Performance Improvement Plan that ends in termination rather than a real plan for improvement. Favoritism seems to be a big factor as well. Over-all, a difficult environment to work in.

It’s disappointing to hear you felt that favoritism was evident and the environment was difficult. From our perspective, our Marlborough facility is a satellite sales office filled with professional salespeople who embody the work hard, play smart and have fun mantra. The management team is receptive to suggestions to enhance the environment so employees are encouraged to exercise their voice. As you indicated, there are several perks afforded to employees – agreeable work schedules, comprehensive benefits inclusive of incentive compensation and discounts on products. It is realistic to set minimum performance standards in the interest of meeting both the department and company goals. A performance improvement plan (PIP) is a means to notify an employee that there is a gap between present and acceptable performance. The PIP is a fluid document which all parties may contribute to the action plan to remedy the matter addressed. One of our most valuable assets is our employee population. As a result, retaining and investing in our personnel is paramount. So trust that people matter at CNXN and PIPs are a means to continue an amenable union. If an employee found that their PIP did not have reasonable and/ or unfair expectations, they should consult with their HR Business Partner.
