Pros

-Remote work -PTO given to you upfront along with freebie days to use -People tend to be more collaborative than not -You get to work with a lot of different vendors so if you can build a solid relationship with an account, you can sell all sorts of different things to them

Cons

-Terrible pay -CallBack is trash and we all wasted way more time on it than we should -Outdated mentalities from managers and coaches. For example, manager told me to call someone 2-3 times a day and then again the following day. This is literally how you get blocked -Sales coach functions too much like a 2nd manager when they should be a side character at best. Call monitoring, business development, deal progression tips & assisting with internal procedures should be their only responsibilities. They should not have the power to approve quotes, demand thorough explanation for wishing to drop account(s), or pass out inbound leads for example.

Pros

Some talented individual contributors Exposure to fast-moving projects Opportunity to learn what not to tolerate in leadership

Cons

This organization suffers from a deeply unhealthy culture driven by poor leadership and fear-based management. As a project manager, it was extremely difficult to succeed in an environment where there was no was to get promoted (they only hire externally) accountability flowed downward only, and questioning decisions was discouraged. Management regularly spoke to employees in a dismissive and condescending manner, creating a toxic atmosphere that eroded morale and trust. Instead of coaching or supporting teams, mistakes were met with blame, which led to risk being hidden rather than addressed. There was also a clear sense of organizational instability. Ongoing internal discussions around company performance and stock volatility added pressure without any meaningful transparency or reassurance from leadership. Take a look at the company stock earnings and you will see the negative trend. Most troubling were how certain employee separations were handled. Several departures occurred under circumstances that appeared careless and lacking empathy, particularly involving employees dealing with serious personal or medical situations. This sent a strong message that employees were disposable, regardless of tenure or contribution. Overall, this is not a sustainable environment for project managers who value professionalism, respect, or ethical leadership.
