Pros

Really like the small office culture in Portland Manager cares

Cons

Too much politics Employees do not feel heard - upper management do not care and listen about what employees need and want. They pretend they listen, but not do anything about it. They take advantage of new graduates -pay and benefits are low They care about the sales people more than the engineers. High Turnover

Pros

flexibility with job duties, relaxed atmosphere, quality coworkers, freedom to explore other opportunities within the company and develop new skills, very mindful and supportive of work-life balance. Good place to be if you want to blend in and have job security

Cons

benefits are very expensive - lots of unnecessary bells & whistles, health insurance does not allow spouses unless they can't get insurance from their employer, not very good at integrating and leveraging strengths of new employees after acquisitions, very large company - changes happen very slowly, too many products - competent with most of them but not necessarily the best at anything, not the best place to be if you have career advancement / management goals

Pros

Consistent weekly schedule of 5, 10 hour days. Weekly paycheck, decent benefits and some paid holidays off. The people there are all great to get along with and overall its good job security.

Cons

Early start time and long work days. Work gets monotonous feeling quickly upon hire. Not enough pay compensation for how much annual revenue the company brags about on a weekly basis. (Plant is on track to make 40 million this year in revenue as our base pay is 21 [Pay was 19 an hour before criticism was expressed]).

Ok Place

Pros

Not hard work at all.

Cons

Pay below average to save a buck. Cheap fixes to save a buck Cheap PPE, material, items to do a job to save a buck half of which don’t work. Benefits are a joke, either have health insurance or live below the poverty line are your only choices because of being paid below company standard. Slows down in the winter and the management insists on layoffs and reduced hours when not needed yet to save a buck.

Experience

Pros

Good short-term, starting out position for recent college graduates in engineering or computer drafting focuses. Friendly coworker environment. Generally flexible about time off requests.

Cons

Little to no promotional opportunities, both for salary increases or managerial experience. Work from home is not encouraged. High turnover rate and retained employees bear the burden of covering for open spots. Reasonable complaints typically fall on deaf ears above a team lead level. Benefits can be expensive, no contribution to cost of health care plan.
