Pros

Excellent training and development opportunities as well as good pay and/benefits. I have a great work life balance. I also like the fact the company is environmentally focused not only with its products believes in getting involved and giving back to the local community with programs such as Earth Day volunteer activities. Employees are paid for their time while working on service projects of their choice.

Cons

Matrixed organization can create challenges such as limited communication. This can problems and bottlenecks when the right people aren't involved in a project or a decision.

Pros

The pay is decent, the employees are friendly

Cons

Expect to work more than 45hrs a week, there is no sick pay, not all employees are treated the same, expect to hear inappropriate conversation, there is little to no engineering (90% sales, 10% engineering), At times selling a superior product, but often you are not.

Pros

Working with Contech has been great in their management team. The company is looking to expand and is very open to suggestions from all levels of the company. Also, being a part of American Manufacturing is important as well

Cons

Pay is a little low for like work, sometimes feels that there are too many initiatives going on to proper focus on, nurture, and cultivate single ideas/projects

Pros

Constant opportunity to learn. Flexibility in managing day to day responsibilities. Our engineers are some of the smartest people I have worked with. Our products are used worldwide and help solve many infrastructure and ecological challenges. People I work with like what they are working on - they are dedicated professionals. For most part benefits and pay are competitive.

Cons

Little constrained by resources. Sometimes don't get enough information about how we are doing as a company. Because of market a lot of change has been necessary and sometimes a bit much to absorb.

Pros

Company offers good pay, good work life balance, a nice office environment. The company is large enough to allow for different opportunities.

Cons

Was recently acquired by another company and after years of continued drive and focus to improve efficiencies, systems and customer service, they are stepping back what feels like to business 10 years ago.

Pros

The pros of this company is the good pay as a welder. It gets very hot here in redding cal and the management buys water and Popsicles for us to have on break. I can't say much of anything else.

Cons

This is a really horrible place to work. When I went to go in to the interview they told me that it was really good that I certified and that they would need somone like me. They asked if I could read blueprints and I told them yes. I was so excited to join there company because I just got out of technical school. I am very skilled. So the next week I start working only to find out that there is no use for my certifications, the person next to me whom is welding has never welded before in his entire life, I don't need to read blueprints and I hate how management deceived me into this job by telling me that my skills are needed when there is no skill needed at all. The employees don't care about you and my new nickname is horible cuss words and I am constantly cut down and cussed out by the forman. They also will not provide me with a helmet that I need (mine is falling apart and is broken. When asked if I can use one of there helmets. I am told " I don't care what you need". I also self galvanized steel often and even with a respirator it makes me sick. I don't want to work here anymore. Bottom line is if you are a welder with certifications and you have loads of skill your skill isn't needed, so go find yourself a skilled job that will push you further into your career.

Pros

Competitive pay, some autonomy in my role.

Cons

During my tenure, the company ownership was a revolving door of holding companies. There seemed to be a different management team every two years, so regardless of what management said, the rank and file simply continued to do whatever they wanted because they knew the "new" team would be gone before they ever figured out that they were being ignored. Also, as is often the case with large organizations, upper management made decisions from "on high" that seemed pretty comical (or frustrating, depending on the day) to the folks who had to implement them on the grassroots level. It seemed that the mid to upper managers were very good at preening and posturing, but hopelessly inept at anything other than justifying their existence with endless busywork.

Pros

Talented people, flexible work schedules, plenty of development opportunity, excellent benefit programs and competitive pay in a safe culture with dedicated employees.

Cons

Lean times and recession tightened the belt for the company over the last 5 years creating heavier work loads for employees and anxiety regarding the company's financial security. As a result morale is still suffering.
