Pros

The training program is generous and thorough. You work as an employee of Cook Systems, not as a contractor, so you get benefits and a salary, even between jobs.

Cons

Management is spread too thin to hear/address employee concerns effectively. Crowded work environment. Unclear corporate organization means employees have to treat everyone they meet as a superior, which is exhausting. The management doesn't pay enough attention to their employees to know when clients blame their poor organization & communication on Cook employees.

We will take your view into consideration. There are very few customer commands that can be "shrugged off" though. We will make every attempt to pay close attention and protect our employees from unreasonable situations.

Great Opportunity!

Pros

The Fast Track'D program is by far one best solution in addressing the lack of opportunities when it comes to finding software development positions. The story for most people is you seek out a job and find out you need 2 - 3 years minimum even for entry level. But how are you suppose to get the experience if you are not offered the opportunity. Well Cook Systems did that for me and a whole lot of others and it has been 2 years now. I was immediately placed on a client's project upon graduation and not only have I worked with java but also C#, PHP, VB, .NET Framework, database management and more. I am forever grateful to Cook Systems for giving me the opportunity to start my IT career.

Cons

The recruitment process needs a little improvement as far as how the recruiters seek out candidates. There is a bit of challenge finding the right candidates without going through a whole lot of those who are unqualified. But the process is being strength daily and I believe that it will get better over time

Pros

Cook Systems is a good place to get a start in the IT career field. So far I have been able to network and team up with many other developers, work with several clients, and gain that much needed experience to succeed in the software development sector. The experience is by far the most valuable asset to gain from this company. The initial training period for the Fasttrackd program is unpaid, but it really does help out those with the ability to become great software developers who are having trouble getting a start in their career. The staff is pretty laid back and there is hardly ever any drama that arises. They are also very supportive, ranging from recovering from a major accident, losing your house in a fire, losing loved ones, to even girl scout cookies.

Cons

There does need to be more support available, but that's always true for anything. I don't know the internal workings of a business, but they could use more organization and transparency. Again, that's also always true for anything. Health insurance is a bit more expensive compared to plans provided by other employers.
