Pros

There are still some good people in the company and in Senior Leadership. The office space in Denver is nice. Management employees receive stock grants.

Cons

This company has been on the cusp of something good for so long and I think the CEO knows this which is why he has stuck around. I give him credit for tying to get us there but he really gets in his own way quite often - we have missed out on some great acquisition opportunities and have not expanded into any new markets in quite a while, the company intranet was a disaster for the longest time, and personnel management and politics remain a major issue.

Pros

On paper, the company appears to take good care of employees. Compensation is good and there are equity incentives.

Cons

A lot of politics, turnover, and lack of trust. The company has a bad reputation for the way they treat sales people and it rings true - a lot of re-trading deals and squeezing sales staff internally and brokers externally on communicated fees. I think we act unethically in many cases, and am somewhat ashamed to be part of this.

Pros

The people and the culture at CoreSite are what make this team great. From the CEO (who feels that the company is a family in and of itself however insists on employees valuing their personal family time) to the HR team who insures holidays and special events are really enjoyable for all to the office manager who takes it upon herself to make certain every employee has everything they need, every day to be as successful as possible. Coming from a previous employer where culture was severely under valued to now working for CoreSite, simply.....WOW. The company has it's sights set in the right direction. It does not feel as if decisions are hasty or not well thought out. Everything is done with an appropriate pace and focus to insure success.

Cons

Inter-departmental communication could use some work. It's easy to fall into the "us vs. them" mentality between teams. It isn't something that detracts from the overall value of working at CoreSite but it is something that could use some elbow grease and attention.
