Pros

The appreciation and recognition at the company is amazing, the management and leadership are the highest caliber, workload is reasonable and allows you to focus on helping people, and just the overall culture is the model for how non-profits should be run. I loved it here.

Cons

The pay, for the area you're in, makes budgeting kind of tight. Also, having to use your own car for transport can be an issue for some.

Pros

Excellent place to gain experience, learn, and grow. Supervisors are a pleasure to work with and are very helpful. Everyone is very kind and genuinely cares about the clients they serve. Workplace culture is awesome!

Cons

Low salaries compared to other employers and high cost of living within the DMV especially DC/Montgomery County area. Commuting is also another con; there is a lot of driving involved with this position which can a drag when clients no show or cancel their appointments last minute. High staff turnover rate.

Pros

Client focused, open lines of communication, clear expectations, cutting edge practices

Cons

Direct service staff carry a lot of administrative responsibilities - it is necessary, but can be overwhelming at times Pay is not great - while a non-profit it is understood that salaries need improvement and management is working toward that goal - a lot of the benefits compensate for this.
