Direct staff need more support

Pros

Direct care staff is wonderful, they have supervision for licensure, it is a great company to lean about mental illness and drug abuse disorders, and how clients with these problems can work in the community, benefits are pretty good, supervisors are really good at what they do, possible to move into supervisory position. Clients are respected

Cons

Line staff is not supported by management, there was a merger a few years ago and since that time a lot of really good staff have left the agency, it seems like some supervisors were forced out because of really small things, this may be why there is so much turnover and this may be the only way people can get into other positions,, really poor pay for direct care staff, it seems like supervisors do the job of managers and directors

Pros

Gain experience, work closely with others, team atmosphere

Cons

After a while I began to feel like I wasn't going anywhere. I wasn't seeing enough rewards for clients who do well or staff who go above and beyond.

Pros

Great environment to work, if you are looking to gain experience out of college or license. Great opportunity.

Cons

Use of personal vehicle adds up a ton of miles and wear/tear. the pay is very low so chances of staying long is slim
