Pros

When my husband passed away, I was DON, my daughter-in-law was Wellness Secretary and my youngest daughter was a dining associate. My husband’s last job before his death was as an RN at CM Bethlehem Skilled. When the unthinkable happened, I was truly in shock. My CM family rallied around all of us immediately. The campus delivered food to my house, Marketing helped me coordinate with Steven’s funeral home (our neighbors here in Allentown), and there were so many calls of support. During that awful time, Michael Leader our CEO, personally took the time to come to the funeral. That in itself was more than was ever necessary but he went above and beyond when he made a point of asking to speak with my youngest daughter. His care and concern for a dining associate who just lost her Dad meant the world to me. That story shows that at Country Meadows you are not just a coworker you are part of the family. I’ll be forever grateful for the time I spent as part of this team.

Cons

Can be emotional at times

It feels like family because it is family. We are grateful for you sharing your positive experience, and more importantly we are grateful for all you (and your family) did for our residents and fellow co-workers. Your compassion and talents made a difference! Our co-workers are worth going above and beyond--that's what family does. We hope you will continue to stay in touch. And again, thank you for your service while on our team!

One of the worst job experiences I've had in my life.

Pros

The only pros to working at Country Meadows were the amazing residents and some of the staff members were good, honest and kind people.

Cons

I originally applied for this job because I'm passionate about working with the elderly. I figured such a large/successful company would have decent staff members I'd be able to connect and enjoy working with. Despite how hard I worked and how true I remained to the work ethic I've always had, two girls, who apparently no longer wanted to work with me, got together and managed to come up with enough lies to have me fired. Proof was clearly not a requirement to accusations made against another employee. I've never been let go from a job, let alone let go for lies. When I tried to reach out to the supervisor in an attempt to better understand, in more detail, what I'd done that was worth firing me over, she couldn't take 5 minutes out of her day to get back to me. To make it worse, the email I sent her was well thought out, very respectful and not at all defensive in any way. Meanwhile, during the time I worked there, I wasn't given any signs that I had done anything wrong, up to the very minute I was let go. I've never felt more disrespected by an employer and coworkers in my life. These were supposed to be adult women I was working with and sadly their actions were those of children. Unless you enjoy feeling like you're doing a good job only to discover you've been lied and talked about for weeks, I'd highly suggest applying to a completely different company. The hourly pay isn't nearly enough for the perfection that's expected of you and should you happen to get on a coworker's bad side, it's become apparent they have the ability to get you fired without a shred of evidence. I absolutely plan on staying in this career field, but I will never again recommend Country Meadows to anyone as a place of employment. As a native of this town, I'm sincerely saddened by how situations are addressed by this company.

As with any job at any company, the first 90 days of employment are a time for both the organization and co-worker to determine whether or not it's a good fit. Unfortunately, in this case, we received numerous reports from several co-workers about disrespectful behavior, leaving campus and neglecting assigned work. These actions were documented and are unacceptable by any co-worker, let alone a co-worker with just 30 days on the job. Your supervisor experience is not what we typically hear in feedback. However, we regard all perspectives and ask you to reach out directly to the Home Office confidential co-worker hotline to share concerns so we can address them. Good luck to you.

Pros

Residents & SOME co workers

Cons

Management cliches & all about the money! Over worked & way under paid! Never appreciated! Michael Leader should get in this place & do something about the way co workers are treated! The lack of care to the residents alone should get him in there!

Country Meadows is proud of the team we’ve put together, and values every co-worker, regardless of his/her position. We work very hard to create a positive environment for co-workers as well as the residents we serve. Working with our elders is challenging work and it takes a special person to care for others. That's is why Country Meadows goes the extra mile to recruit good co-workers. In addition to offering competitive wages and a full benefits package, co-workers can earn pay increases and even promotions by participating in free Career Paths. Best of luck to you.
