Pros

- The company offers excellent benefits, including annual bonuses and additional perks. - The workload is manageable, and the company ensures a good work-life balance. - The internal culture is positive, with supportive and friendly colleagues. - The company takes good care of its employees and provides a comfortable working environment.

Cons

- While the work itself may not be very challenging, it is steady and consistent. - Appraisals are not very impressive, but bonuses are provided every year. - The most significant drawback is the annual release of a few employees worldwide, which raises concerns about job security.

Pros

Business units are more autonomous now and run like true companies within CPI. I recently retired, but if I were still in the workforce, I'd say Convenience Services (formerly known as vending) is the place to be if you are considering a job at CPI. I think it is CPI's most exciting (but also complex) business unit as it involves connectivity, fintech, media, and smart vending machines of all kinds, including premium coffee! Under the leadership of Sharon Peyer, the Convenience Services team has made great strides, navigating challenges that have long made this business complex. Sharon is a leader who does the hard work, coaching and inspiring her team. She will also take on challenges that I have seen many others at CPI run away from. She's a rare leader who you can learn from and grow with.

Cons

Historically, the company was too matrixed, making it difficult to compete. This is improving under Aaron Saak and Michael Mahan, but corporate can still be very slow, too process-oriented, and too risk-averse.

Pros

The pay is competitive in the market if you can get through the ridiculous hiring/interview process.

Cons

Micro managers who ultimately want a bunch of robots who they can control every movement. Monitor your availability at all times like a toddler, complete big brother syndrome. Zero autonomy even with people who’ve done this work for decades. Too many Chiefs , not enough Indians. Way too much middle management fluff sitting around in meetings working on micro management strategy rather than getting some work done and helping with things that matter. Hypocrisy related to performance. Direct manager gives you a great review, Upper management determines your merit increase based on how much they can impress their boss by being stingy. Zero mentorship programs, no path to advancement Years of service don’t matter. You can work here for 15 years and they’ll hire someone off the street to be your manager. No clear internal advancement path. Firings at the beginning of every year, followed by promises it won’t happen again, followed by hiring a bunch of people. Rinse and repeat. Individual competitive culture. They don’t focus on teamwork. They only care about looking at individual metrics they deem important rather than the team as a whole and the final result. I really don’t recommend working here. Pretty much everything that’s wrong with corporate work culture in the USA.
