Pros

The families and BT's were amazing to work with, families were always understanding and supportive of the programs, some were able to be involved, others observed from a distance. The BT's are the supporting pillars of the company without the hard work they put in, I wouldn't have been able to be there even for a min.

Cons

Long drives for most of the BT's including myself, if the starting point was San Jose, the destination would be as far as Oakland, or on the other side of the bridge up to Milbrae. Compensation was laughable compared to the pay in SJ and other companies in the SF/Fremont region, extremely high turnover rate, super small team of BT's (15) and managers(4).

We, at CSH, take all employee concerns seriously, and address accordingly. Unfortunately, the review above is based on inaccurate information. To address the concern regarding “long drives,” our work is conducted in the field, which means we travel to client homes to provide direct therapy. Our employment ads are posted by city in the areas we are looking to hire, so applicants are aware of what cities we are hiring for before they decide to apply. When interviewing, we confirm with potential staff what regions are in need and what cities they are willing to travel to before completing the hiring process. Staff are regionalized (within 25 miles of their home address) and CSH makes every effort to provide cases that are within their region. If a therapist is traveling out of their region, this has been agreed upon with the therapist prior to assignment of these cases. We are sorry to hear you feel our pay is “laughable”, as we continually research pay standards and are comparable to other agencies in our field in each region. CSH also provide several opportunities for growth through our in-house training programs that result in pay increases, as well as an annual performance review with the possibly of a pay increase depending on performance in your role. We hire to serve the needs of our clients. This also allows us to provide our staff with sufficient hours. We do not see this as a negative attribute of our company.

Pros

After decades of being in this field as an entry level BT, senior, case manager, and director, in various companies and various teams...the job is the same no matter where you go, but the quality of the work we do here at CSH, the permanent product of the work we do here at CSH is truly done for the right reasons. We have strong teams that lift each other up and ride the highs and lows of this business and, those of us that know what comes out of sticking together and getting through it celebrate the success of our clients and our teams together. working with people that have the same strong work ethic is a Pro here at CSH and is very hard to find these days.

Cons

Downside to working at CSH is feeling the burn of employees that come and go, not knowing, or acknowledging that they are leaving because of whatever their personal reasons are, and how that affects our clients and continuity of care. Knowing we did all we could do to support, train, guide, mentor, to lose employees that don't understand the importance of pushing through, communicating effectively, and riding the hard days of a job out, because sometimes work is hard.

This is the second negative review, from the same employee, in less than a week. At Creative Solutions for Hope, we continue to take all employee concerns seriously. To address the concerns noted below: • All full-time employees are given paid time off yearly. • Employees are promoted from within the company, in fact there have been numerous promotions within both the clinical and administrative departments within the past month alone. • Raises are provided based on performance, conducted through an annual performance review, or at time of promotion. • Administrative assistants do exactly that, they assist with administrative departments, until they find the department in which excel in/are passionate about and are promoted to a department-specific position. • This reviewer specifically lost an employee that they oversaw and carried those tasks until they could find and hire their own replacement. However, they did not hire their own replacement, even after conducting multiple interviews, and instead submitted their resignation, and posted this review while still working with the agency. • Creative Solutions for Hope (CSH) recognizes that an employee may have suggestions for improving the workplace, as well as concerns about the workplace. Here at CSH we always encourage employees to reach out to a supervisor to have a prompt discussion and voice their concerns. This reviewer noted that the company only cared after they put in their resignation, but this was the only time they addressed their concerns. We have an open-door policy, and checked in with this employee regularly, yet they still did not address any concerns. We cannot improve the workplace, if concerns are not brought to our attention. Alternatively, when concerns have been brought to our attention, it has led to positive changes within the company. This review has been posted by a disgruntled employee, who did not exhibit professionalism, which is evident in their post.
