Pros

Great company when I started in 2013. Great benefits. 401K is weak.

Cons

Restricted operating system. Getting over rides is like trying to get a bill passed. Too many chiefs who have never been in the field trying to reinvent the wheel.

Thank you for your feedback. Crescent Electric switched over to a new ERP system throughout the Company from May 2014 – September 2015. We are confident this system will help us improve customer service and productivity and be easier for employees to use in the long run. Most of the companies in our industry use the system we are using now. Initially we had some issues with permissions, including overrides, in the system but these issues are being resolved. With more time, we are sure you would have come to appreciate our new operating system. We are not sure what spreadsheets you are referring to but data analysis is an important part of running a successful business. We are very comfortable acknowledging that data is one of the many tools we use to manage the Company. Alternatively, we are proud to say that our CEO and President has been with the Company 37 years and started in a non-manager role in a Crescent branch. Over his many years with the Company he has worked in many different positions and locations around the Company. This experience allows our CEO to make informed, practical decisions that help Crescent Electric continue to grow as a leader in our industry.

Pros

Best place to work in Dubuque, Iowa. Stable company built to last. Good jobs if not careers. Marketing done in house.

Cons

Workers treated like Mexican day workers. Complain and you're out the door. $900MM+ company run like Mom & Pop shop. Lots of cliques. Family owned and some of the family are true characters. They are proud of their tradition of being cheap. Upper management verbally abusive to Packer fans.

While this posting lists a date of 2011 I think it is actually over 7 years old. I’m glad to read that this person says we are the best place to work in the area and a stable company built to last. Yes, at one time this position reported to an executive that was not a Packer fan. Most people enjoyed the banter with this executive about football teams. Regardless, for a number of years now a different executive has been managing this area of the company. Employees that come to us from publicly traded competitors are thrilled with our family owned culture and things like direct access to our President, speed of decision making, lack of management layers, etc. I would put our executive team up against any in the industry. This is a well run company moving in the right direction.
