Pros

Free food, excellent health benefits.

Cons

Many different ways for management to wreak havoc on your paycheck. “Lateral positions” come with pay decreases. You have more company knowledge but somehow you are worth less. Often even when you “move up” in position and take on more responsibility, you get paid less than your former job. Management asks employees to change their schedules and shifts constantly without regard for how this effects their life. Sometimes these shift or schedule changes come with pay decreases. You literally can be paid less for being a team player. If you speak up then you are making waves and they will search for causes to let you go, or to make you miserable so you will voluntarily leave the role / company. New department policies or metrics seem designed to put downward pressure on / weed out specific employees who have not recently been drinking the kool-aid. Custom Ink is best suited for someone just out of college and still living at home due to the myriad ways they dream up to mess with your pay. If you have bills and need a steady pay check you should look elsewhere. Nepotism abounds. There are meetings regarding career trajectory and no matter how consistently you say you like x they will give you y and give x to the managers friend. These meetings also take you away from the work or at least have the effect of throwing your day off balance. Management are not trained career councilors and seem to just be ticking a box so they can make it appear they are devoted to your learning and development when the reality is they have nothing to add to the conversation.

Pros

It was a pleasure to work there. My coworkers were smart, kind, and funny. Management in my department worked hard to keep staff happy. The people working there (in most any department) believe in the company and its mission. I think most of the executives and middle management care a lot about their employees. I highly recommend working there. The office is really nice too.

Cons

There are some really cool tech projects and initiatives there, but I was not working on them. It's hard to increase one's salary significantly staying at the same place.

Pros

I love being surrounded by positive, good hearted, and talented employees. The work environment is fun and collaborative. Lots of opportunity for internal learning and development. The t-shirt and jeans dress code allows for employees to truly feel like themselves. Very generous time off, plus holidays. Leadership is visible and very approachable. It is apparent that leadership cares. The company is growing rapidly, but does an incredible job at communicating upcoming changes and being open to employee feedback throughout the process.

Cons

Hard to think of any downsides! Custom Ink is truly a wonderful place to work.
