Pros

Have to type something in this field

Cons

Stayed for 4 months and then quit to maintain my sanity. They made me work several nights after a full day’s shift and once a 30hr inhumane, non-stop shift for a non critical issue, so the manager appeared good in the eyes of his superiors. The IT department and especially data center operations is a joke. These people need to be in the animal herding business instead of home building. They do not have a work life balance policy, even though Human Resources has it slapped on their intranet website. They will call you at home on the evenings and weekends for the most trivial issues and highjack your soul. If you have a family or if you value your time off, run away from DR Horton. This place is run by incompetent megalomaniacs who only have their bonus in mind, not your well being.

Pros

For the most part, you were able to run the jobsite in the way you thought was best. Nice people in the office who supported the field.

Cons

They really needed a Warranty department to handle issues after the home buyer moved in. Too difficult to build the houses and handle warranty issues within the time frame required

Pros

Decent place to start. Benefits are great to make up for low salary. Sales is everything at DR. Area managers are great!

Cons

Construction team treated like dirt. Every year bonuses were cut for construction even though production increased. Sales is allowed to use models as daycare and when furniture gets broken the construction team gets the write up for not fixing furniture fast enough. Great perk for sales. Really puts a sour taste in your mouth being treated as an underling and not a professional.
