Pros

There is good potential to learn about a variety of different things.

Cons

Due to the language barrier between the Japanese and American staff (along with the differences in culture) it is very difficult to accomplish fairly simple things. You have to get consensus for every thing that you do.

Pros

Great experience if working in design of electrical systems. Worst case calculations in the automotive industry help entry level engineers gain a lot of experience within their first programs.

Cons

There is no incentive to work harder than coworkers because this Japanese company is set up to be fair to all. In other words the company does not properly compensate the individuals that work harder than others.
