Pros

The people I work with are great. Good paced work. My position has 10 hour days allowing for 3-day off taken consecutively. From day one, they offer 6 hours of paid time off accrued every pay period and available to use after the first 90 days. Can cash out any PTO over 80 hours at fixed times of the year.

Cons

My position is meant to be a "Revolving door" to IT as explained by my previous supervisor. This in not a bad thing, after 6 months to a year in the position, it is expected for you to either move up within the company or leave for employment elsewhere. Since my position is a small group, this causes coverage issues as well as a periodic influx of new employees that need to be brought up to speed with how to properly perform the job. The IT department is not viewed as important enough to invest resources to provide updated equipment and supplies by the Board of Directors.

Pros

-Good location. -Decent pay for the region. (Make sure you negotiate well as that's your pay for all the years to come). -Fun coworkers. -Good experience if you are in the beginning of your career (non clinical) and haven't worked for another company.

Cons

-No raises even if you succeed at what you do causing the environment to be extremely toxic as new hires get higher salary doing less work. You have to apply to a new position in order to get a raise or leave the company and come back at another time to get a higher salary. You also have to beg for it, a lot. Salary is not correctly waged based on experience. -A lot of who knows who in order to advance. Make sure you have a physician as a friend. -Some departments are run without a director. Positions are posted but never filled. -IT seems to be left out compared to other departments in the organization. -PTO is terrible (you use accrued PTO on mandatory holidays or sick days). -No training. Expect to do everything. If a coworker leaves, you will also do their job (with no raises). -No remote option for IT employees that have all the capabilities to work from home without exposing the community during COVID but they have to share one restroom instead after your temperature is checked in the mornings.
