Pros

Still a few excellent technical engineers on staff. Opportunities to make contacts in the industry.

Cons

No leadership, business strategy, or commitment to integrity and quality. Almost all in solar upper management are from wind energy and they know nothing about solar. Management encourages staff to compromise on integrity and they only care about taking money from clients.

Pros

1) so so work life balance 2) Fruits twice a week.

Cons

I worked in the DNV GL office in Oakland and here are the cons: 1) They have a very old IT systems and infrastructure 2) They don't care about your career plans and development and due to high employee turn over they push you to cover for empty positions although this position may not fit your goals or strength 3) They are in financial distress due to low oil and gas prices and lack of demand in maritime section. There were lots of budget cuts. No bonus or profit share anymore. 4) There is almost no culture. it is so bureaucratic, there are lots of politics involved and it takes forever to change something in this company. 5) Their salaries are not competitive compared to other companies in Bay Area. 6) There are some people in this company who do not respect your opinion and they just want to prove themselves 7) Management with old mindset 8) Almost no perks available. No parking, commuter check, food, phone, snacks. 9) Energy Saving industry pie is not growing and competition is high. So, it is tough industry to be in. The only way they could grow in the past was by acquiring competitors, however, DNV GL missed the chance and now some the competitors have bigger market share and they are more trusted than DNV GL.
