Pros

DOWL is a great place to work if you want to excel in your career by working on challenging projects. The day-to-day work schedule is flexible, in part because the emphasis is on providing quality products, not on a rigid work schedule. The upper management folks are top-notch. DOWL is forward thinking and on the cutting edge of providing a bridge between the experienced baby-boomers and the millennial generation. The best employees have the opportunity to become owners.

Cons

Time off policy gets a B-. DOWL provides a total of 2 weeks per year for vacation, sick time, and holidays, regardless of experience. Although not an absolute, life seems to steadily get worse for talented and hard working project managers.

Your comments on the "pros" section above makes me feel proud to be at DOWL and a working with folks like you. I would like to know more about the issue of time off and vacation. We have a pretty liberal leave policy for professional staff that provides flexibility and self regulation (we focus on how much time you are contributing, not now much time you are away). So, if you are in a box where you feel like you only have 80 hours of earned leave per year and that things are trending negative, I need to speak with you. We need and want people like you and I want to help keep you engaged.

Pros

DOWL is a strong company with forward thinking leaders and outstanding employees. DOWL manages their business in a fair, but conservative way toward both employees and clients. They are not afraid to fire a bad client which improves the atmosphere for employees. Owners and managers are hard working people and they expect the same from employees in their charge. Opportunities abound at DOWL for anyone who is passionate about their job and willing to step out of their comfort zone from time to time.

Cons

Growth over the past ten years has brought opportunity but it is also a little more difficult to get recognized. This is not such a bad thing; employees just need to learn how to stand out.

Thanks for the kind words. Our entire management team is constantly looking for "passionate contributors" to step up and lead our company forward. Make sure that your supervisor and teammates know that you have aspirations to contribute at a higher level.

Pros

A lot of overtime hours. Good entry-level construction job.

Cons

The company is a little disorganized. Some of the supervisors have poor people skills.

Thanks for the positive recommendation and outlook for the company. Growth and expansion sometimes come at the expense of organization and regimen. We are implementing a major push toward Operational Excellence in the firm which may address some of the turbulence and lack of effective communication at all levels. We appreciate the honest feedback and will use it to "do better".
