Merit based performance culture. Hard working professionals. Dedicated to client service. Tremendous amount of technical resources and expertise to draw upon.

Cons

Demanding professional environment that can be challenging to balance client and company expectations. Number of offices and distance between make connecting with other embers difficult.

Thanks. We are an unabashed and unapologetic meritocracy. But you are right that family time and community service and mental recovery and down time also need to be accommodated in our individual quest for work-life blending. We often talk about "thinking big and acting small" so that we can continue to work for clients of all sizes that have a need for our services. We are adding services lines, adding offices, adding talent, and having fun as we do it. I take to heart the fact that we need to inclusive of all ideas, and that none of us is as smart as all of us. Pros

Work environment is great for those who don't like to do the same thing over and over every day. Some very dynamic and talented staff that make working as part of a team very rewarding. Management is the best of any company I've worked for - for the most part accessible, responsive and interested in making sure staff is successful. Great mix of projects. Growth has been managed well, balancing a shift from personality-driven decision-making to objective processes for decision making. Feels like a family.

Cons

Some senior managers seem to work way too many hours and this affects morale at times - because they lack time to provide positive oversight and it's not an example of the work/life balance that most staff aspire to emulate.

Great comments and advice to management. Many of us in senior level management love our job and love DOWL and take the servant leadership responsibility to heart. However, our zeal for being involved and growing the firm must be tempered with a strong dose of mentoring, delegating, and provide upward mobility for staff. Thanks again for the reminder.
