Pros

-a lot of responsibility and autonomy for young, inexperienced entering their first job -co-workers are great people, smart and empathetic, helpful to commiserate with -technology is being recognized, and for many customers is useful -health/vision insurance, 15 vacation, 5 sick/personal days

Cons

-recent grads are hired, payed very little, not trained effectively, worked to the bone without proper tools and then leave as new-er grads walk through the door. Training is limited and there are not enough resources / nor a community where you can ask for meaningful help. - tools are few and CRM is flawed -- this has left a bad taste for many potential prospects / leads -commission structure is not great -company writes fake positive glassdoor reviews to balance the negative true ones -company culture does not value employees, fear and stress are what keeps everything going -you will/can be in a different city up to 5x a week (on average probably 2-3x a week). -outside sales rep does not get support from inside sales (you must prospect your own leads, go to your own meetings, and close your own deals), and it is also expected to attend & drive attendance to marketing events. -no 401k, no equity

Great place to work for

Pros

- Great company culture: Regional Head places great emphasis on creating and maintaining good working culture, surrounded by young and supportive colleagues that bond outside of working hours - Leadership: leaders that lead by example and regional senior management willing to provide advice and guidance - Meritocratic: opportunities abound for those who are willing to put in the effort and time - Technology: the concept and technology behind Darktrace is cutting-edge and employees are able to articulate the technology well - Employee welfare: consideration for employee welfare provided, centrally-located office and adequate pantry provisions

Cons

- Job scope: additional responsibilities may have to be taken on as company expands, good for those willing to expand their skill set beyond job scope but not everyone will enjoy doing so - Appraisals: no formal process in place yet; would be good to know what the employee has done well / could do better in certain areas - Results-driven: strong focus on numbers and metrics which can be a high-pressure environment for junior colleagues - Training: initial training provided only. Additional training opportunities to improve on skill sets and increase industry knowledge would be helpful

A feat of marketing magic

Pros

Public perception of company is still positive. Lots of lively, intelligent colleagues.

Cons

The product does not live up to the hype. Recruitment has a heavy focus on fresh graduates, and with little to no internal education this has created a woefully inept workforce. It is not a meritocracy, do not believe this when they say this at interviews. Favouritism and politics endemic in every team. Pays similar to, or below market averages.
