Pros

Free gym membership. Rest of the pros disappeared since the current President/CEO has been in charge.

Cons

Toxic work environment. Management can't be trusted. Do NOT believe the fake 5-star reviews. Those reviews were written by people that were ordered to do so to improve the company image. The President/CEO is shady. At the very first company sync, he told the entire company that the only people that deserve recognition are the salespeople because they are the ones that bring money into the company. Then, he started having town hall meetings on each floor. The meetings he had on the Development floor were negative and trying to make sure everyone knows that he is the boss. At his first one, he announced to the entire floor that he could have fired them a long time ago. The group he was referring to was brought together to fix a poorly designed product. Out of all the town hall meetings from that day, they posted the positive one he had on the Sales floor. There have been layoffs every year (2018, 2019, and 2020) since the current President/CEO has been in charge. On 3/18/20 and 3/20/20, they laid off 20-25% of the employees. In addition, there has been a mass exodus of people that left voluntarily due to the toxic work environment. The 2019 layoffs were by far the worst due to the deceitful tactics used. A group of those people received a fake meeting invite with a very detailed description on how they wanted to tap their experiences on process things related to requirements, specifications, and testing. Once the meeting organizer showed up to the meeting, he informed the group that there were brought there under false pretense and were all laid off due to restructuring. They treat employees like they are disposable. If you're not in Sales, you belong in the basement with Milton.

DSI was well positioned for strong financial performance in 2020, but the Covid-19 crisis required management to reshape business plans and adjust cost structures to address the new economic reality and to stay on track. While it’s always hard to part ways with any of our great employees, management had to do what was in the best interests of the company during these challenging times to ensure success in both the short and long term.

Pros

Downtown location and good set of colleagues

Cons

Absolute confusion across teams in terms of their roles, constant changes without any vision, mass culling of employees to make profits at the top, blatant disregard & lack of empathy to current times

Unemployment has reached a record high at 3.3 million as the Covid-19 pandemic has shut down a large part of America’s economy. The pandemic’s impact on the jobs market is unprecedented, and continues to worsen. Tough economic times have led to tough decisions for many companies.

Pros

Nice downtown office space, really enjoyed the work I did and the people I worked with.

Cons

DSI has been going downhill rapidly since 2019, when they discontinued annual raises, service awards, and bonuses. In 2019 they also let go quite a few people while losing several more to resignations of very valuable employees. The IT staff was already pretty bare bones before the recent layoffs. Even worse, they are banking on a Cloud Inventory product that is very buggy while getting rid of almost everyone who tests the product.

Still a Great Company. Just ask the great team of employees still excited to be working for this company about the clear vision and the leadership team willing to make tough decisions to adapt as needed to current challenging economic times. (BTW the IT staff is the same size today as it was in 2018…)
