Lacking upper management leadership

Pros

Working at DataBank allows employees with junior to mid-level experience to gain valuable technical sales experience. Company provides a decent portfolio of managed services and colocation offerings. Some clients are very large and can help grow your network of contacts within the IT space.

Cons

The list of cons is fairly significant. Biggest issue is lack of leadership and help from the sales management team. One particular person in the KC market has no business being in the management role she's in. Specifically, backhanded remarks, micro management, yelling at employees, dishonesty and all around selfishness were all attributes that I witnessed on a fairly routine basis. It's amazing that a lawsuit for employee harassment hasn't been levied against the company. Lower salaries compared against other competitors in the industry, expensive health insurance and lack of 401K match round out the key negative attributes of DataBank.

Pros

My current management is great. Everyone is extremely helpful. I'm not sure what the deal is with the other reviewers here. If you actually work hard and put fourth the effort to communicate with all team members including other remote locations it's great. Just pick up the phone and everyone treats you kindly. Yeah some information you have to dig for but that's the same for any company. Very laid back bunch of folks. Advice to anyone who is looking to join - apply. See if the team fit is for you.

Cons

No real cons at the moment. Just little tune ups here and there on the floor and some in the office but that's kind of the point of the work.

Pros

There is a lot that I can learn on the job. Great family health benefits. Allows you to get valuable experience in the Data Center field. There are a lot of great customers that are full of great information and you have access to a lot of technology if you take the time to pay attention.

Cons

Pay and not really able to "move up the ladder." Communication between management, customer care, and operations. High employee turnover and if you are sick, there isn't anyone who can really relieve you. Employer does not match 401k.
