Pros

- some of the brightest minds in the industry work here - our product is world class - unlimited PTO is great as this company will burn you out

Cons

- the current executive team that came from AppD is truly a cancer to DataRobot. Culture used to be amazing before these frauds took control. - compensation is not very competitive anymore. DR used to overpay for talent, but not they can’t keep up with the market compensation unfortunately - upward mobility is extremely limited in almost all roles. Many fantastic employees have left in the past 6 months due to this issue. - high degree of burnout

Pros

The product is very good, and it demos well to customers. Competitors are beginning to catch up, but DataRobot still has some compelling differentiation. The company is very focused on making customers successful, sometimes to the extent of providing training and professional services at no cost.

Cons

This is the worst-run company I've ever worked for. The culture is toxic, the organizational structure makes no sense, the go-to-market model is a disaster, and the company lurches from one initiative or strategy to the next. The CEO is a mercurial data scientist with a massive ego who is in way over his head trying to run a company of this size and complexity. He and his small inner circle of inexperienced - and often junior - employees make many of the decisions, often leaving senior executives out of the loop. The company has recently brought on an experienced president/COO, but time will tell whether he is truly empowered to make the changes that need to be made.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Some teams have a work-life balance Fully remote options for some roles

Cons

Working here is like watching a cheesy horror movie. You keep yelling at the main character about the danger around them in exasperation, and the character does exactly what they shouldn't do. People at the company have been talking about the mistakes that leadership have been making, up until the point that leadership announces the issues with profitability and has to do layoffs. If the leadership team is not replaced, I have a strong feeling that the company will go bankrupt. There are also no performance reviews, so I have no clue how talks about compensation and promotions are supposed to happen. Almost no communication happens between certain departments (departments that rely on each other), which makes working at DataRobot feel arduous at times. There is practically no growth opportunities within my department, and there isn't an established process for employees to join other departments. Benefits are weak, as there isn't even a 401k match. Compensation isn't terrible, but I haven't seen a single dollar added to my pay since I joined two years ago. The new leadership team that started last year have stripped the company of any semblance of its culture so they can run and do shady things. I'd say this is not the time to join this company. This is the time for current employees to start looking elsewhere and get ready to leave.
