      Great Stepping Stone for Law Enforcement Career

      Pros

      Delaware DOC is great if you want to attain a career at another law enforcement agency. The experience and training will equip you and prepare you for what to expect from other agencies.

      Cons

      Forced overtime and low pay make it hard to bare... Leadership show lack of concern for work/life balance...

      Poor leadership, weak training, out of date security measures.

      Pros

      A lot of co-workers are good people. Job security. It is virtually impossible to be fired from this job regardless of mistakes or purposeful rule violations.

      Cons

      Almost every aspect of the job is flawed. The facilities are falling apart at the seems, management is more uneducated about policies and procedures than new recruits. Weak training, no repercussions for failed work or assignments. Lack of care for others, backstabbing. Impossible to get days off, mandatory 16 hour shifts often. Overall poor leadership.
