Pros

Overall Delta has great culture, values, and people. At least as much as a corporation can have. Benefits are insanely good for an airline with the 401k match, good healthcare plan, and free flights. Work is interesting and you can create long lasting friendships if you choose.

Cons

They have been doing quiet layoffs for the last few years of corporate employees. They keep the numbers just low enough so they don't have to report it to the government. It's working because it has not made it to the public or news and it is never ending. So at the end of the day it's a job. Many employees are obsessed with Delta and give up long hours and seeing their families. It can be like a cult. They stay for years and decades but it is a business and they will still fire you if they need to. No matter how loyal you are. Don't be like this. Avoid Finance. Like any big company there will be bad people and teams. My team threatened to fire us if we didn't donate to the employee charity fund (this is encouraged but completely optional). In hindsight I wish I had reported it to HR. Finance is toxic and has high turnover and the lowest employee satisfaction. Heavily overworked and underpaid. They do not care about employees. They are one of the only divisions to say they care about employee wellbeing and diversity, but they just say that after getting so much feedback - but take no action or offer any support. Be careful where you join. If you are just trying to get your foot in the door you can stick out a bad team for a year or so. There are a lot of opportunities to move around internally since it's a massive company.
