Indian Managers weild no power and ultimately its always the US managers taking the big calls. Higher management have their own game of politics and power. Its rarely about the company's or employee's benifit, its mostly how these middle managers can survive at their job being totally incompetent. Most of the IT managers (US and India) fall into two categories - A. Originally from a service based company(Mostly cognizant or TCS a few filipino orgs as well) who sent them to US a long time ago and they are just surviving in Delta now(got a full time opportunity at Delta after working as a contractor for way too long) to maintain their Green cards/Visa.
B. Indian managers who were hired from service based companies and are just trying to survive the Indian IT and have a stable and comfortable life and plan out the final few years before retirement or when AI takes away everyone's job.
IT managers here are not your friend nor are competent enough to guide you technically . For most of them this is the best company they have worked for because "They give flight benifits, free food and cabs" and will shove those benifits down your throat because for them this is the maximum an employee can expect.
Be ready to feel grateful for each benifit that the company provides you.
TBH, the company itself is good , good brand good airline staff a clean reputation.
The only thing that's not good is their IT primarily because its being handled by incompetent people who have no idea what they are doing in Tech and mostly trying to earn a paycheck after being in this company for so long.
If you join this company in IT you will have a good carefree life , but you will never have growth . The worst for you would be if you are joining DTH India wherein you have to be prepared to just accept that you cannot have any ambition or goal because ultimately its always the people in the US that you will be working under no matter what you do.
