Pros

Pay was decent and coworkers were awesome.

Cons

Where do I even begin 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was fired because I requested a VERY reasonable accommodation (medical accommodation) and was told if I didn't get a letter saying I didn't need it, they were firing me. They said it was an essential job function. That was a blatant lie. I worked there for 3.5 YEARS and didn't handle phone calls until 3 years in. How is it essential then? Also, I never signed paperwork agreeing to starting calls. They also said I could try it and if it doesn't work for me, I could take a demotion. That was a lie, too... There was no pay increase to add calls. They treat you horribly if you're not management. I even told the CEO what I was threatened with and he did nothing to stop discrimination over a disability. I also have plenty of evidence to prove this. They are awful people who don't care about their workers. Also, is it really smart to hire a man who had JUST stopped working for a rival company to manage your customer service department and run it so far into the ground that almost all your senior workers quit? I mean, you forced executives to retire but keep the sleazy management and HR workers? Also I worked there for 3.5 years and applied to 3 promotions. They were impressed with my work and thought I would be an asset but didn't choose me because I didn't brag enough in my interview (one of their core values is being humble)

Pros

Decent Pay. Decent Benefits. Paid Training and Paid P&C licensure

Cons

At one point, I would have eagerly recommended Delta Defense to anyone seeking meaningful work. That is no longer the case. Let me be clear: Delta Defense is the USCCA, despite the smokescreen or statement that Delta Defense is the “service provider” for the USCCA, if you are a member or employee dealing with the USCCA, you are dealing with Delta. That detail alone should raise eyebrows—and it only gets worse from there. In recent months, this company has steadily spiraled. Member cases are mishandled or outright denied, and the public is starting to take notice. Competitors gain ground as leadership fails to act, yet frontline advisors are stripped of the tools and authority needed to respond effectively. The result? Stress fractures—across the team, the morale, and the mission. The CEO, Tim Schmidt, is presented as a hands-on, ever-present leader during training. That image couldn’t be further from the truth. In over a year, I’ve seen him speak at three company-wide meetings. Beyond that, he’s largely off the radar, reportedly focused on personal artistic pursuits in another state. When leadership checks out, cracks become collapses. Your role? Expect it to change—often, and with little notice. My job description shifted three times in one year, all in the name of “better serving the member.” In reality, it was about stretching a dwindling workforce even thinner. Which brings us to the elephant in the room… They are drastically understaffed. Turnover in the Member Engagement Advisor role is nearing 40%, with no serious effort to replenish the ranks. Those who remain are left to carry the weight—and burn out in the process. If you’re looking for a company that values transparency, keeps its promises, and respects its employees, you’d be wise to look elsewhere. Delta Defense talks a good game. But behind the curtain, it’s a different story—one that’s unraveling fast.

Pros

It you fit in with the culture it’s a great job. The pay is decent depending on the department your in

Cons

There is favoritism especially if you don’t work at headquarters. The constant change in metrics/rules added is a hassle. The job you are hired for is not the only job you’ll be doing

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your dedication and the time you spent with Delta Defense. Our company has more remote employees than are based at our headquarters and the expectation of fair and consistent treatment of our team members is required. Yes, as roles change, we have to update metrics and goals, as with any growing business. In addition, our expansion of our new Emerging Leaders training in 2023 has been well received with a 100% score by participants. We focused on growing our learning and development programs and will continue to do so. We hope that you have found the perfect fit for you since your departure.
