Pros

Decent Salary Work Life Balance Work From Home Good People

Cons

CYA Management Style- Senior Managment due to constant layoffs, poor decisons, and fear tactics has instilled a CYA work ethic. Many people especially middle management are un accountable and point the finger "to someone else" when things dont go the way C-Level expect. People are in constant fear of lay offs and this doesnt promote a great working environment. Have lost a lot of good people due to Senior Mangement's inability to identify own inadequecies. Lack of Strategy- Deltek technology is outdated and behind the times. Product management road map is non existent and customers are starting to recognize that Detlek takes FOREVER to deliver a product to the market. And when it does, many customers are indifferent. Development team has shown signs of improvement at times, but cant seem to maintain, momentum and falls behind very easily Just a software vendor-- No thought leadership. Customers are looking for trusted advisor and someone who can help tem achieve goals and expectations, Deltek falls short. Instead of driving market, constantly trying to catch up. Reactive culture versus being proactive. Just acquired by Private Equity firm. Early diagnosis is uncertain.

Pros

- Many nice co-workers - flexible remote work environment - they leave you alone to get your work done, which is good

Cons

Where to begin? Senior management that is incredibly inconsistent: "we're in the best financial shape ever, but your bonus will only be paid at 50% this quarter" is their watchword. Too many managers; incredibly inflated titles - VP's here might have 5-10 people working for them, sometimes only 1 or 2. Span of control is absurd. Managers are in meetings 40 hours/week, which means that they never have time to manage. Company has stealth layoff's every quarter, whether they admit to them or not. Ethically, this company lacks - they need a chief ethics officer, or something like that. They pride themselves on paying average compensation and below-average benefits.

Pros

Flexibility to work from home. It used to be a great place to work, I was hoping to retire there. Management used to care about employees.

Cons

Ineffective management, constant blame of "old Deltek" rather than accepting current failures, no leadership ability by executives, operates under a constant state of fear towards the next lay-off cycle.
