Pros

Good benefits, Paid Time Off, Outstanding employees that have a lot of potential and skill set, yet are over worked and under appreciated.

Cons

Removed by force- this company lacks poor communication and doesn't adhere to their Code of Ethics unless beneficial in certain situations to certain people. Never once received any kind of verbal or written warning about job performance and was immediately terminated without warning regarding a discrepancy. Upper management was fantastic and more than willing to help coach and give direction to employees. However under immediate supervision of certain management, I was never provided any accurate training, guidance, feedback, or coaching regarding my ambition for career growth within the company and in the mobile advertising industry. Not only that, but their inappropriate and unethical relationship with another higher level manager was a major distraction that took time, not only away from the company, but in helping to grow the team. If you're looking to expand your growth in your professional career, this is not the place for you. Their promises of unlimited paid time off, a relaxed startup vibe, and beer Fridays are merely a bandaid for the insidious problems that lie internally.

It is unfortunate that you felt this way in regards to the termination process. There are certain situations that call for immediate termination of an employee such as fraudulent behavior, theft, etc. This type of behavior is not deemed ethical or something we can coach an employee on as we would for a performance issue. It is our duty and responsibility to ensure we are looking out for the best interest of the company, our stakeholders and our employees. If you would like to discuss your concerns further with HR directly, please feel free to contact me at april.collazo@digitalturbine.com. Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback.

Good People, Poor Company Unification

Pros

Depending on the office location, the company continues to hire some very talented engineering staff. They're very flexible with schedules and will work with you on establishing something that works for you. The engineering issues facing the company are interesting problems to solve.

Cons

The communication is terrible here. Half the time you're not sure what you need to be working on, and if you are working on something, it's hard to tell whether or not you did a good job because there are no shared standards the company makes an effort to follow. If you can do it fast, the rest is superfluous from an overall management standard. Each of the offices seems to have their own wildly divergent culture, making cross-team efforts near useless, or extremely hindered by no widely accepted standards, communication mechanisms, or even work priorities. Management is chaotic and meandering most times, and due to such poor company-wide communication, creates an atmosphere that allows for otherwise straightforward production practices (such as issue escalation) to become completely mired in miscommunication and inter-office politics. This creates an environment where it is hard to grow outside of personal efforts. There's little to no mentorship due to time pressures caused mostly by mis-communication. The overall feeling of working here in engineering is an overwhelming amount of stress with little to nothing to show for it most of the time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback on your experience working at Digital Turbine. We value and appreciate you taking the time to lend us some constructive suggestions on how we can improve our company. As with any small to mid-size global company we have growing pains. One of which is finding better ways to communicate efficiently and effectively across the globe. Another area of improvement that we are continuously working on is finding ways to align our teams throughout the company. This can be a difficult task when dealing with offices that operate differently, different time zones, culture, communication styles, and views on the best way to produce high quality software. We are also in a business which moves very quickly to ensure we keep up with our customer demands and rapid market growth. All of these things together can sometimes be challenging. We have put more focus on structuring the teams in a way to more effectively support the business. We have also brought on new leadership in technology to help us to better align technology with the business. Integrating and changing the way we do business is a slow process, but we understand that this is a necessary step in order to be successful. We are not yet perfect, but are committed to the journey. Again thank you for providing your insight and perspective. We sincerely hope that you have already seen some of the changes we have made to improve in these areas. Please feel free to provide additional insight to your manager, tech leadership, executive team or HR. We are always willing to listen to new ideas and implement ways to better the business and your experience with Digital Turbine.

Great teams!

Pros

Folks on the teams are great to work with, they care about delivery of a great product and they care about each other. Freedom to learn and grow in your position is nice. Freedom to fail and learn from it.

Cons

Seems like the company is chasing dollars rather than focusing on the top 20% of the clients that provide 80 % of the revenue (either current or potential future). Attrition occurring because employees are worried about company laying them off to save money. Seem to like to hire management externally rather than promote from within. Too many managers, not enough worker bees on the teams.

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience as an employee with Digital Turbine. We agree that the teams are some of the best people you could ever hope to work with. Digital Turbine does provide the freedom to wear many hats and to grow within the company as long as you enjoy being challenged and have the determination, motivation and independent drive it takes to push yourself to the next level. As a growing company there have been some need to lean up certain areas and grow in others in order to be successful. Unfortunately that does tend to cause an increase in attrition as it does with most businesses. We are sorry that you are feeling some of the pressure from these changes. We also hope that you have seen how much we have changed and grown in this past year. We have also added new leadership this past year that has made an impact on aligning our focus as well as priorities moving forward. We really appreciate your feedback and hope that your experience has been more positive then negative with Digital Turbine. If you have additional feedback please feel free to talk with your management team or HR. We truly value the feedback and suggestions from our employees.
