Pros

None absolutely nothing sorry I'm just being honest

Cons

I worked there for Dillard's for about 5 years in total and they overworked me like a dog, made me do other people's jobs, and disrespect my work ethic KNOWING I was one of the best business managers they had. I did everything I was supposed to do without question but the girls and the guys there are so gossipy that if they don't like you they'll try to get you to quit or find a weird way to fire you. So I was literally unlawfully fired for no reason. Gas lit in the worst ways I would never recommend working for Dillard's I didn't have time to see my own family or friends. Barely had time to go to school and when I did need to go to school they would complain. Or if you called in sick they would ask you to come in anyways. I've been cussed at by management and worked to the bone. I'll never do it again Even though they fired me for no reason. I'm grateful they did Because that was a big learning lesson for me on what not to look for in a job.

Pros

The best part about working at Dillards, Hands down, is the gratis, discount and all the free stuff i got from being a top credit earner and cosmetics associate collectively i got over three thosand dollars worth of gratis(makeup, perfume dillards bucks) during my 6 months of being there. The second pro was getting to play in makeup all day. The hours were just perfect for a part time position 28 hours a week.

Cons

The goals were insanely ridiculous for the cosmetic line I worked for. I was expected to sale 300 to 400 dollars daily, being that I worked at a dead end mall that was impossible. If you dont make you quota the first 6 months of being there your most likely be fired, Infact they hire in groups and fire in groups (10-15) people at a time, your replacement will probably be working with you right before your fired. They are very sneaky and dont let employees know whats really going on. I can go on, but the most important thing i will tell someone working in the tulsa area is if you start off at 12 theyll drop you for not meeting quota but if you start at 12.50 or more you will just get a pay cut. good luck

Pros

The pay is really good for retail. Working in cosmetics is a lot of fun - you get to play with makeup every day! You are responsible for making your hourly numbers, thereby ensuring your current rate of pay (or ability for a raise). The Dillard's I worked for was full of friendly people, and our store manager was really great. The opportunity for upward mobility is definitely there if you're willing to work hard.

Cons

Because your pay is based on making and improving your sales goals, your pay can be cut. If you work for a cosmetics counter within Dillards, expect to have your company responsibilities and requirements often to be at odds with what Dillard's expects you to be doing. For example, your company may want you to be promoting a certain product, complete with marketing material for said product, but Dillard's may be promoting something completely different, or even a different counter's (your competition) promotion. I've worked for 3 separate department stores as a counter manager for a cosmetics company, and Dillard's is by far the worst/weirdest when it comes to working "together" with your competition in the other counters. Because the focus at Dillard's is on making your own personal sale's goal, things in the cosmetics department often become cutthroat/catty, with people doing anything they can to make a sale, even if it's not their department, or they don't know what they're talking about.
