Fired During A Pandemic.

Pros

Catered lunch (when in office) paid healthcare and monthly outing (pre-pandemic)

Cons

I was fired due to "performance" their excuse was I was not getting enough appointments to keep myself afloat however they did not provide me with enough cases to be able to meet their weekly goal. They claim to care deeply about their employees but to fire someone during a pandemic I think shows that employees are only number producing robots to them. The leadership teams at DoorDash are not diverse at all in my department all of my manager were the same race which we all know what race it is. I felt since day 1 I didn't belong any ideas I had as a POC were always shot down or taken over by someone who was Non-POC.

Pros

- DoorDash does a great job hiring. The people there are truly the best and brightest. But they get burnt out quickly or move on to better opportunities due to the lack of leadership and being treated poorly - Strong business plan and company direction. The goals are lofty and often seem difficult to achieve, but DoorDash always finds a way. Always impressed with how quickly DoorDash could make things happen. - Competitive pay - Friendly office culture, with two free meals a day when in office pre COVID (lunch and dinner)

Cons

- Terrible leadership below the C-Suite. Zero experience with "people leadership". Very much a boys club that plays favorites. Disappointing because there is such talent at lower levels. - High turnover caused by leadership's failure to fix problems leads to everyone doing the work of 2+ people - No investment in personal development or career growth - Worst work life balance I've ever had. Enterprise role is incredibly autonomous, to a fault. Never feel support from those above, you are left out to dry and deal with problems from difficult merchants and blamed when things go wrong, even if you raise your hand early and ask for support (which never comes). Leadership does nothing to help elevate the org and solve problems cross functionally. Left this job needing therapy. Not an exaggeration.

Pros

You do get free food.

Cons

Unbearable hours. Erratic, 6 day per week schedule. Strenuous demands. You literally work 11 hours straight while sitting on your butt, occasionally you will have a three hour scheduled gap in your 11 hour day, but not an 8 hour day.
