Pros
Everyone at Dragos is really smart and most seemed to be very good people. I have almost no bad things to say about my colleagues - leadership is another story.
Cons
Where to being. Maybe at the top. The CEO really needs to work on his professionalism. He has great name recognition and is a very smart guy, but he is not an executive in anything other than name, nor does he know how to run a company, despite what he loves to tell employees. He constantly has to tell the company on slack "I don't have a drinking problem", we had to hear all about his childhood traumas and his marital problems, etc - this is not the behavior of a CEO. Additionally, he PRIDES himself on transparency, and when there was some talks of budget cuts earlier this year, he promised us "there will be no surprise layoffs" and then guess what? yup, surprise layoffs of 10% of the company. He preaches transparency until it's inconvenient for him. When Director level positions come open, they almost always seemed to go to outside hires instead of promoting from within. There is not much room for internal growth since they are slow to promote, don't give raises, and have a history of preferring outside hires for higher positions. Sales leadership is wild. They want 100% growth every year and somehow that's not seen as a red flag. The sales team has been absolutely hemorrhaging sales people who don't make the cut - possibly this should be seen as a sign that the plan is wrong. Case in point - sales continues to miss their marks and the company has to lay people off. Guess who did not get laid off? Sales leadership. It's honestly just totally off-base. Some VPs are known for being toxic but nothing is done. Dragos is rotting from the top down and I think the writing is on the wall that its golden days of being an industry darling are over. Finally, the CEO thinks he is the ultimate knowledge source on all things related to what customers need and will not hear otherwise from teams that work daily with customers. His ego is so big that he refuses to implement best industry practices into some of the offerings. If he could just take a minute and trust people that he hired, customers would be happier and products would truly stand apart from the crowd.
