Pros

You work in weed, you can talk about weed all day but that’s where the good parts end

Cons

I don’t think I have enough space so I’ll keep it short. tons of work, bad pay, crazy amount of bad decisions, the worst hiring I’ve ever seen at any company (everyone is a buddy of the exec team at toast), not a single person is sane or happy at this point. people are quitting left and right (the good ones). It’s not good, dutchie is not in a good place, and I really don’t feel like anything good will come out of this all. I wouldn’t trust the executive team to babysit my pet rock. it’s not worth it, weed isn’t cool enough to work somewhere so absolutely miserable run by toxic people

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. We are continually focused on attracting, retaining, and rewarding high-performing employees. We have built a strong team with a proven-track record of delivering impact at some of the most successful companies in tech, including Toast and Hubspot, among others. Voluntary attrition rates at Dutchie are below industry benchmarks. We take pride in fostering an environment in which employees are encouraged to offer solutions, take on big challenges, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver impact. We invest in our teams so they can better serve our customers and have fulfilling careers at Dutchie.

Pros

If you like being remote

Cons

Brutal work environment Management that is horrendous. Bad from a team lead perspective, bad from a people management perspective You will be laid off as they continually fail to budget correctly Bad pay, work anywhere else in tech and make more Down for hours on 4/20, management is powerless to change it Did I mention you'll work long hours for bad pay and then be let go on parental leave?

Pros

- really good, kind people for the most part - relaxed culture

Cons

- multiple rounds of layoff bc CEO decided to more than double the size of the org in 1 year, without having enough $ to do so :) - middle management: some were okay, but generally speaking mid level managers were not great - nepotism: this very well may have been only on my team bc I didn't observe it elsewhere, but there was a lot of hiring of ppl who knew the hiring managers. not strong hires either, many of them were not the most qualified - not the best talent. hiring bar should be higher and more quality focused, rather than quantity and speed focused - not enough team offsites - might also be team-specific, but we were siloed - should give employees more transparency and enable ppl to do their jobs better. lots of info that I didn't have access to and had to wait on leadership for. there is minimal trust bc some employees get by doing lower quality work and others get stuck picking up the slack. but it turns into only trusting senior ppl and distrusting anyone else, and then the talented junior ppl don't get opportunities to grow (observed across the company) - comp was pretty average, better than low paying companies but lower than high paying companies

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We’ve made a lot of positive changes over the past quarter, including onboarding a new leadership team and CEO. Restructuring the team was a difficult decision, but one that was necessary to ensure we are able to remain more committed than ever to our mission and our customers. We’re continuing to grow and evolve, and appreciate this feedback.
