Pros

Remote work Unlimited PTO wouldn’t recommend taking more than 1 or 2 days off at a time though

Cons

Unrealistic workloads Constant change but in a disorganized floundering company way, not an agile startup way. Sales and Leadership have no idea how the product works, they will promise anything in order to close a deal even if it doesn’t make sense or is not possible within the system. Future of the company hinges on a payment product that barely works for most customers right now.

We encourage all employees to work with their managers to take time away from work using our Flexible Time Off policy. We are laser focused on product stability and reliability, with a customer-first approach to any product updates or changes. Gathering feedback and getting into details directly with customers is something we do daily, which helps us prioritize and grow our product with customers top of mind.

Pros

If you like being remote

Cons

Brutal work environment Management that is horrendous. Bad from a team lead perspective, bad from a people management perspective You will be laid off as they continually fail to budget correctly Bad pay, work anywhere else in tech and make more Down for hours on 4/20, management is powerless to change it Did I mention you'll work long hours for bad pay and then be let go on parental leave?

Pros

The people here are incredible. Dutchie does a good job vetting people who want to be in this industry for the right reasons. While it can be tough navigating an organization remotely, people are typically very willing to help and often wear multiple hats because of it. I do very much feel supported by those around me as we all lean on each other to succeed. Attending trade shows and being in person with customers/prospects is a big priority on the sales team- great to get face time in. Also- the product itself is constantly growing which makes it easy to stand behind.

Cons

Being at a startup company, in a startup industry comes with its challenges. If constant change is something you are not comfortable with- this is definitely not the place for you as things do tend to change internally alongside the changes that occur in the industry itself. There can be siloed conversations dept to dept, which can make communication of new processes difficult due to the remote structure of the company. Finally, there has been the (what feels like common in tech right now) challenge of some layoffs- no one hopes for those. I am hopeful that as the industry and market and general stabilizing, many of these growing pains will rightsize.

We’re glad to hear how supported you feel by your team and co-workers - “embrace different perspectives” and “be direct, with empathy” are two key values we lean on within our teams. We absolutely agree - if there is one constant in this industry, it’s change! We are continually seeking to improve both internal and external communication and recognize the opportunity to evolve in this area as we grow!
