Pros

Great product discounts decent benefits nice parental leave fun office events sometimes Summer Fridays!

Cons

New leadership across the US in the last year has had a negative impact on culture. People are treated poorly and there is a culture of devious leadership behavior and bullying. Chaotic work style. Yes, I like fast paced but it got ridiculous to have little or no direction on projects or ever changing direction. Expats from the UK come to the US and steal the good jobs and mid level manager roles. It makes it hard to progress. Career progression is a joke! Most people leave eventually like I had to. UK headquarters can make the US feel like we can't be autonomous. There is so much pressure from the UK. Constant visitors who disrupt work and have to be treated like royalty. No thanks.

Dyson has lost its way

Pros

Good place to grow your early career as you get to work with a lot of people across many teams (often global). People are generally friendly and willing to help you learn. The DEI function is starting to take off. It's a bit late to the game, but the team has been doing a lot to help instill DEI values in the Dyson culture. Maternity leave (24 weeks) is really good. It's not fully paid, but definitely one of the best benefits. The Malmesbury campus is beautiful and really fun to visit - where the *magic* happens.

Cons

Dyson used to be an exciting place to work full of good people who were passionate about the brand and its products. Unfortunately that passion and excitement has dwindled over the past couple years as people took a back seat to profit. Dyson claims to care about its people through half-baked initiatives that are actually considered the bare minimum at many companies in the tech world (pizza Fridays, free snacks in the office, gym discounts, etc.). Work-life balance is abysmal and employees are often blamed for having bad work-life balance and not logging off at night. But, if you log off and miss just one thing, you find yourself behind and out of the loop in the matter of minutes. Demands from Group (corporate) are ever-changing and always a priority, making it hard to plan more than 2 weeks out, and truly enjoy and unplug on a vacation. Employees are at the whim of James Dyson and Roland Krueger and their moods on any given day. Career growth is not great. There isn't a clear path for promotions or raises, and employees often have to fight, and then wait, for a promotion or raise for months. Raises that come with promotions are laughable, especially since many who are promoted have been doing work that's levels above them for months, and maybe even years. There's no culture anymore. Dyson used to be fun and full of a leadership team that cared and planned fun things (random happy hours, silly things like mannequin challenge videos, offsites, etc.). Now it's just a gloomy office full of people who are overworked.
