Pros

Great products, people, passion, growth, and bonus. There are many opportunities for growth if you go after it. But you have to seek it out and fight HR for pay or a title...the middle and senior management are really good people and highly approachable.

Cons

The turnover among all of the ranks is way too high. Often times people leave without notice it is just odd and unsettling. No one is ever safe is what it feels like, mixed with the negative tone around not good enough 20%+ growth creates a negative culture. The only thing casual about the company is the clothes, there is a almost clock watching mentality where everyone shows up on time and leaves on time. There is no respect for personal life or thought that people work from home or when traveling. If you get in on a flight late you are expected to be there the next morning and travel to the UK is expected to happen on a Sunday. Dyson is insanely conservative and not at all risk taking like the claim. There is very little opportunity to do things differently or fail because the five levels of approval you have to thru for the smallest of spends...for something within the budget. The only person that can or wants to sign anything for approval is the VP of Finance. Which equals no empowerment. Dyson is very successful despite themselves and the under qualified people in the UK trying desperately to maintain control eliminated any empowerment locally.

Pros

The product is great. The marketing is great. The look is great. You will be challenged. The tendency to give employees far more work than reasonable will prepare you far and above for other jobs - and let's face it, this company looks good on the resume.

Cons

Although the company stresses "wrong thinking" and "failure", it is far from practiced in the company culture. A bit of quirkiness and passion doesn't get you ahead but rather looked down on. There is a lot of change but not the good kind. Constantly changing leadership creates a turbulent atmosphere and a recent influx of "marketing" - I mean MARKETING - people has brought even more focus on the numbers and made up words (do not assume this means they've any imagination). Employees are distrustful of management and each other. Understandable. It's a terribly competitive environment where there is a huge "I" in team. Don't share your ideas here - they will either be ignored or stolen by someone else. Extremely low pay with unrealistic expectations.
