Pros

Work/life balance is good; you simply clock in and out. They offer lots of overtime. Easy job to learn.

Cons

Management is horrendous and has no clue what direction to go. Changed our comp plan and performance model numerous times. They sell it as "managing a book" of clients when you are a glorified call center. They care more about inbound calls than anything. All real business is referred to MS Teams. They tried to blend the FC model into the old Platinum RM model and are fumbling with it. Management is under pressure to prove model can work.

Pros

Here are the pros: - Great benefits from Morgan Stanley, including generous PTO, wellness support through free therapy, amazing maternity and paternity leave (I believe 19-20 weeks), etc. - good brand to have on your resume - worked with some smart people and learned a lot from them. - good pay

Cons

Cons: - Micromanagement to a level I have never seen! Every second of your day is controlled, creating so much anxiety and stress. - extremely toxic environment, especially from management who don’t care about your well being. - High manager turnover- went through almost 5 managers in 5 months - terrible new hire training program - Required metrics changed every other day. For context, I was a Morgan Stanley employee for over 16 years…before they bought E*Trade. Morgan Stanley is not perfect by any means, but my career path has been mostly positive overall. Before going into the Platinum role, I was a financial advisor. Due to unforeseen changes on my team, I wanted to pivot into something more stable and focus more on relationship management. I was encouraged to consider the Platinum role. I saw red flags on my first day. This was the worst role in my career and I am so happy I’m no longer there.

Pros

Let me temper this review by saying I loved working for Etrade. Morgan Stanley is absolutely atrocious Decent salary ~82k so not bad Clock out and not take work home except the crippling stress and anxiety that they instill in everyone

Cons

Most toxic place I have ever worked. Leadership is either totally powerless depending on the level or just simply so out of touch with reality you wonder if they have any idea what they’re doing. They continually put in sales goal and metrics that have no basis in reality apart from corporate America greed (more more more). All of the metrics are sales based but the managers say service is the most important component of everything we do while not doing anything to help front line associates streamline any processes or operations to make anything easier. No clear guidelines on how metrics will impact your now semi annual bonus (no more quarterly payouts) the range is outrageous once again will no clear evidence as to why some associates get 100k for instance while most get 15 once again with no real justification. Call center environment every minute of your day is micromanaged, if you aren’t in the exact mode you are supposed to be in to the minute it counts against you. No leeway really to get admin or service/follow up work done Overall this is by far and away the worst place I have ever worked. They want to bleed Etrade dry as fast as possible and don’t even pretend to care about the front line employees that are the ones that drive business or burnout.
