Pros

Hours are somewhat flexible. Team leaders are nice.

Cons

Support staff has been cut to anemic levels. Instruments fail constantly. Be ready to work two or three jobs to pay the bills. Low moral. High turn over.

Pros

Some aging equipment available across a broad range of techniques that you could use to learn about various characterization methods. The only (only) positive thing I can think about the place..

Cons

Scientists have no clue what they are doing. There are no subject experts here as such people, if hired would be low balled and never listened to (why would they come?). Company has very poor reputation outside of its four walls, particularly among top technique specialists or materials characterization associations. practices. When it comes to hiring, think of foreign national hiring at very low price points , many times in temporary (non full time) capacities. They are in love with operators rather than scientists, so if you are willing to be a monkey turning knobs and pressing buttons rather than doing genuine scientific analysis, this is the place. This practice however will freeze you professionally (no opportunities for growth in the organization). In a company that regularly fires people who have worked for fifteen or more years and produced profits just so they can save a few pennies for top management, serious thought/caution before accepting a job offer here is highly recommended.

We are sorry that you had a bad experience during your time at EAG Laboratories. Our Scientists are key to our success as we work to help solve the world's top companies’ scientific problems. Many changes have taken over the last few years to make sure that every employee is informed of the changes taking place and provided with training. With over 2,500 instruments worldwide, we are consistently upgrading equipment, but this environment is not for everyone as we must deliver high quality results within the agreed timelines of our customers.

I'm sorry that was your experience. This dates to prior to the acquisition by Eurofins and this business line has since moved over to Eurofins.
