Pros

Good benefits, perks, 401k match, decent severance packages. Industry leader. Good top management. Okay communications and feedback. Very supportive of work/life balance most of the time.

Cons

Below average wages, less than cost of living raises, when there are raises. The conglomeration of bought up companies do not work well together, more like a disfunctional family. And the small divisions of people scattered about the country make IT support impossible, and severely restrict sadvancement. Middle management and down have no vision, no soul, and are no help. Promotions are politically driven, and HR doesn't stop it, or even covers it up. Reductions in force are haphazard, and drain the brain power instead of the chaff.

Pros

EFI has a nice location. They offer competiive salary and pay. Hours are typically flexible in most groups which help balance a busy life with work. When joining EFI, it seemed like a stable envirnment, however, (as my downsides comment below will elaborate), that has changed...

Cons

The overall work environment is extremely chaotic. People work all sorts of hours depending on the job. The direction is lacking, and employees cannot feel that targets/dates are serious. Top level decisions change way too much...

Pros

Decent pay and benefits, some flexibility in work schedule

Cons

Morale is at an all-time low due to all the random layoffs. No job security. Very few strong leaders in the company. No stability with all the changes in the company. Middle-management abuses their power. Almost no training. They claim to have tuition reimursement, but I've never seen anyone be reimbursed for classes taken. Consultants are extremely overworked. Lots of employees are looking for new employment.
