Benefits are Decent, Office Politics and Management Horrible

Benefits are decent and has a pension plan.

Cons

1) Management is clueless, play favorites 2) Office Politics 3) Management let favorites get away with murder 4) Cant keep the department fully staffed, a lot of turnover.

Pros

Stable company that is diversifying and growing. A very genuine and down to earth CEO that is very likable. Some good benefits. Well maintained work spaces. Many good co-workers.

Cons

Extreme amount of nepotism and cronyism in hiring and promotions on the side of the company I work in. Positions for family members of managers who have no degree or experience are equal to or higher than those of employees with 4 year degrees and experience. Have also seen denial of advancement to a longer term employee, but advancement allowed to a family member of same ranking.

The company is a financial mess, undertaking a poorly executed digital transformation and an understaffed claims reorg simultaneously. Morale is low and dropping. EMC Re employees were told they had no jobs in 2023 in the coldest way possible. C Suite is tone deaf, opening meetings with tales of lavish golf retreats. Claims promotions are handed out to bullies and gossips due to age and tenure, not positive leadership qualities.
