Pros

It’s a job. In service to some reputable companies. Potential for growth maybe. Met some good people. Management is doing their best to give the best service they can to the clients. Good co-workers.

Cons

Unless Eversource finally starts paying their associates for what they deserve. Eversource will continue to fall short of their services and staffing, for both associates and management. Expect a lot of responsibilities for low pay. I mean really low compared to competitive outsourcing company on every position. Our managers expect a lot from us while we’re paid minimum wage, that’s right minimum wage in NY one of the biggest city in the world. We provided office services, facilities management, baristas and copy/print and a lot of “sure!” for the sake of “great customer service” The lower end positions are physically demanding for minimum wage. Why work here when you can apply for food or retail and leave work with minimal stress for the rate we’re being paid! Same goes for management level employees. It’s only a matter of time before everyone realizes this and starts leaving. it’s already obvious. I do have one manager that is constantly over my shoulders training me incorrectly or training method is like no other. This specific manager spoke to me like a child, expects me to understand their ways of the company in just a week. I don’t even have a say or thought or idea to share because they won’t allow it. We have to plan when we’re going to be sick to use a sick day and PTO’s will get denied. Yes makes no sense while being compensated minimum wage right? Management knows this and keeps telling us to be patient.. for another 5 - 10 years? While we’re working hard only to bring home a check that isn’t enough to make a living even with responsible spending. When we question our salary, management will play with their words to calm us down with the same nonsense they tell all of us. The only way to get a penny more is if we’re selected to relocate to another company we’re in service to, but the cycle continues.

ESFM Response

Happy to respond and no, I’m not the EverSource autobot. We noted a few inaccuracies in the above statement, starting with your noted length of service with the company. Given we are just getting ready to celebrate our 6th birthday, 10 years of service at this point is not possible. Everyone who is on Team EverSource understands our culture and open door policy, that starts with our founder and president, Amy Swart. Every employee has access to reach out to her at any time (she’s in the outlook directory). She’s looking forward to hearing your concerns with an unbiased, open mind. As always, we welcome feedback and thrive on engagement with our associates! As the fastest growing company in our industry, we value and rely on our smart, dedicated, capable, hard-working people and pull from our best resources to support the growth. In the past 90 days alone, we’ve promoted 10 associates into management-level roles, something we are extremely proud of! And please know, if you feel this is not the best fit for you and you must move on with your career, we wish you nothing but fulfillment, success and happiness.

Pros

There were no pros for working at this company.

Cons

In order to thrive in this work environment, you have to be cutthroat. There is no loyalty for those that have been at the company for years. Money makes their world go round and if you can't ensure the top people are getting their yearly bonuses, you will become a target. More work dumped on you with no additional compensation. Lack of leadership - they put people in positions who have no knowledge of the trade and no clue what they're doing. I had a senior level VP actually tell me he had no clue how to run the division he was head of. Unrealistic expectations/lack of training - with no guidance, I was instructed to perform tasks out of my wheel house with management knowing full well I did not have the proper tools or training. Promises made regarding growth but just hot air - ESFM wants to keep their boy's club intact, they know who they are. And if you aren't willing to play by their rules, you're beneath them. Unfair pay - I was grossly underpaid in my position and when they hired a replacement, they bumped up the pay I should have been receiving. HR violations left and right - we were constantly told to call the SPEAK up hotline in the event we would like to file a complaint. HR would perform their 'investigations' and there would be no action taken. We were constantly demoralized by client comments and ESFM leadership would not push back. Clients are allowed to say and treat people like garbage and we'd have to suck it up because they were paying the bills.
