Don't expect this company or it's "parent," Compass Group, to do you any favors. Their number one concern is their client base. In the midst of a global pandemic and riots, Eversource expected us to continue to show up everyday for mail duties. Many of the tasks set to the Eversource teams are mail, packages and kitchen hospitality. And yet, somehow, these are considered "essential" services for companies where a vast majority of the employees are working from home. We put ourselves at risk traveling to downtown Chicago everyday - our health is at stake as we face not only the threat of COVID-19, but rioters, looters, and a militarized police force.
I had made my concerns clear from the very beginning and they were largely ignored with a "clients-first" response.
This company will step on you and over you just to keep the contract with the clients in good standing.
The most frustrating part of all of this is that they make you feel like you're important... until you realize how little you mean to them, as well as making you feel bad for taking time off.
I am immuno-compromised. And when I brought up concerns about having to travel to work during the height of the pandemic, I was told to simply wear masks and wash my hands and maintain social distancing.
They posture a "safety-minded" work environment with bi-monthly safety "training," while simultaneously putting their employees at risk during this trying time.
The Eversource/Compass response to the Coronavirus and following riots is not good enough.
