Pros

Great coworkers that you want to spend time with, pretty good benefits, and a good stepping stone into a career in start ups. I also liked the mission. It is important.

Cons

I am writing a review because I know I took to Glassdoor to make a decision about a company and I think you should know what you are getting into. They have set work hours with a "butt in seat attitude." The more time you spend in office the more noticed you are by upper management. If you aren't in office long hours it can work against you. A lot of teams are in office before 8am. They don't have development plans for employees and have challenges with management that is larger ignored. They don't have a clear ability for promotions because they don't have set positions. They also have several management employees that have been reported to HR but no actions have been taken against them. Several full teams of employees have left due to management around the same time and they having mostly been hiring backfill positions for them which is why it seems like they are "growing" at this time. I think their is a reason they have so many open jobs, turn over is high at everfi because they do pick favorites and promote a few and their is little to no opportunity for movement upwards or opportunity for salary growth. If you join everfi you will have to teach yourself most of your job skills and network in order to move up. Visibility is key. Also, keep in mind some departments are better then others. If you see a lot of jobs open in one department I would start to look into why and reach out to former employees.

Pros

For Schools Managers: - Remote, flexible schedule - Unlimited PTO (within reason) - Excellent maternity leave - Supportive direct manager - Clear job expectations & KPIs - Positive team, strategic, energetic, passionate - Generally supportive upper management - Generous cash bonus annually - if you hit your goals

Cons

- Pay for Schools Managers is significantly lower than other divisions of the company, and within education as a whole. Many Schools Managers that were educators took significant pay cuts (sometimes up to 10%) to work for EVERFI. The trade off is flexibility & PTO, but that doesn’t help pay the bills month to month - Told there were raises twice a year, haven’t seen them yet - Asked to hold large amounts on personal credit cards for expenses that sometimes take up to a month to be reimbursed - Travel policies favor other divisions even though the k-12 team travels most often - Required to book rental cars (which can take hours) instead of reimbursing mileage - Sales team needs to consult k-12 when making deals. Often, the sales team makes a deal for a certain number of schools even though there’s no presence in that area. For this goal to be met, the Schools Manager is held responsible. The Sales Team sees the bonus and incentive, while the k-12 team does the work.

Blackbaud - EverFi review

Pros

Friendly Company Great mission Fun atmosphere Beautiful DC office Fun team to manage and lead.

Cons

Since the acquisition from Blackbaud, the Everfi benefits package, perks, and overall company morale have fallen drastically. Many people in my department have left while others on my team discuss departure and other opportunities. Our medical/dental benefits used to be superb but since BB bought us, our medical benefits have been horrible. Unlimited PTO was another reason why I choose Everfi but it was taken away. I used to feel so relaxed and proud at Everfi but now I feel so stressed and scared to be sick.
